Hi! I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Georgia. I have worked in the mental health field for the past four years and received my master's from Walden University. I assist clients who are dealing with issues across the life span--providing treatment interventions for childhood ADHD all the way through dementia in elderly patients. My goal is to get you back to the best "you" you can be through the utilization of therapy and medication management.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will involve obtaining historical information through an initial evaluation. This will include a brief mental health, medical, and social history. During this session, we will identify problems or issues that will assist in obtaining a proper diagnosis. This process will help both of us in better understand your needs and aid us as we work together to develop the best treatment plan possible.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My compassion combined with my experience in medication management and therapeutic interventions has enabled me to assist many patients in overcoming severe bouts of depression and anxiety as well as working through many other mental health issues and situational obstacles.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with young people to empower them to overcome obstacles such as ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety and depression, but equally enjoy developing a therapeutic relationship with adults to assist them in addressing issues in their life.

Narrative

I have found that the narrative approach to therapy is an "empowering" exercise. Using this method, I have been able to help many individuals from all walks of life begin to view themselves as the expert on their own life situation. By assisting them in separating their issues or problems from their true identity, we can then address those issues, without assigning blame to themselves or others. This process helps alleviate many symptoms of anxiety and depression, and enhances the patient's ability to deal with situational stressors.
