We all face challenges, but my goal is to help you overcome your challenges and obstacles. Currently, I work with children experiencing depression, anxiety, and behavioral symptoms. I work with adults experiencing anxiety and depression. I aid my clients with creating personal goals for a healthier lifestyle! I specialize in treating children experiencing stress from behavioral symptoms, family transitions, divorce, and everyday life adjustments that lead to depression, and behavioral disorders. Emotional and Behavioral disorders disable the individual and lead to problems in personal relationships and their chosen career. I also treat adults who experience stressors in life that cause anxiety and depression. We will uncover long-standing behavior patterns or negative feelings that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. My practice is face-to-face and online, due to Covid-19. With our young kids committing crimes at an alarming rate, troubled youth need an outlet. I work with parents, community leaders, and administrators on tools, ideas, and techniques to keep their young kids involved in positive activities to try to deter them from negative influences. It takes a village to raise our youth today! Sincerely, Dr. Timothy Norris Dr. Timothy A. Norris, GC-C, LPC, NCC, BC-TMH

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first sessions, expect to have jokes that might misfire and to have to explain more than I’ll need to explain later. For example, if lettuce makes you really sad, as a therapist I might not instantly understand why. But once you tell your story to me, I’ll be more sympathetic and will understand the next time I bring it up. I might even be able to help you figure out the deeper meaning behind the sadness of lettuce. But I’ll have to know your story—the dots that connect lettuce and sadness for you—first.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This approach focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns that lead to negative behaviors. Psychodynamic Counseling: This approach is rooted in Freudian theory and involves building strong therapist-client alliances. The goal is to aid clients in developing the psychological tools needed to deal with complicated feelings and situations. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): This approach is goal-oriented and focuses on finding solutions to specific problems. Family Systems Therapy: This approach focuses on the family as a system and how individual members interact with one another. Group Therapy: This approach involves multiple clients working together in a group setting, often led by one or more therapists.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Anger, Anxiety, Communication, Depression, Emotions, Grief, Relationship, Relaxation, Stress, and Parenting and Behavior.
