I work with individual adults experiencing depression, anxiety and stress, and I have a passion for working with folks in the LGBTQIA2+, kink, and poly communities. I provide gender affirming care and you will always have a safe and brave space in my room! I'm a secular therapist with acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and existential therapy backgrounds; but your therapy depends on you. What works for someone else might not do it for you, so we'll work together to personalize your journey to a healthier state of mind. Asking for help and looking for support are the actions of a brave and strong person, especially when the socially prescribed treatment is "deal with it." You don't need to do it alone. Even if you just need to chat and vent, I'm more than happy to talk video games and cats :)

First session

We'll chat about your experiences (or lack of) in therapy, what you feel your needs are, and generally get to know each other!

Strengths

I believe my strengths are in being calming and humorous while also being able to help identify the problems and some solutions.

Ideal clients

The clients I work the best with are those in the LGBTQIA2+, kink, or poly communities experiencing depression or anxiety symptoms. I also work with folks experiencing grief and self-esteem difficulties. Clients who are willing to be introspective, thoughtful, and open to change are always welcome here. I conduct sessions more like conversations than interviews, and while the occasional worksheet is used I tend to keep things less formalized.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT skills my whole career. It helps identify how what you do and how you think affect how you feel.

it’s so hard to choose just two things that stand out about him, and i think that’s what makes him not just a good therapist but also a really good person in general. i’ve always searched for a therapist that gave me honest advice and opinions without any bias, and now that i’ve found that it REALLY helps when it comes to understanding not just why i respond to things the way i do, but also why other people respond the way they do:)
