I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about helping people navigate life's challenges and better understand themselves. I recognize that starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I believe finding a therapist you genuinely connect with is an important part of the process.

Life can be challenging, and finding the right support can make a difference. I provide an empathetic, nonjudgmental space where clients can openly explore their thoughts and emotions, gain new perspectives, and develop practical strategies to navigate life's challenges.

My goal is to create a comfortable, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are, feel heard, and work through challenges at your own pace. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, focusing on your individual needs and goals while helping you develop practical tools to deal with life's ups and downs.

First session

Our first session is really an opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll ask questions about your background, current challenges, and what brought you to therapy so I can better understand your experiences and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. The first few sessions are typically a combination of information gathering, building rapport, and identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. It's also a chance for you to get a feel for my approach and decide whether I'm the right fit for you. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is an important part of the process, and I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and involved every step of the way.

Strengths

I bring an open-minded, authentic, and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I value genuine connection and believe that humor and lightheartedness have a place in the therapeutic process, when appropriate. I strive to make clients feel truly heard, understood, and comfortable being themselves. I don't believe I'm the expert on your life - you are. My role is to meet you where you are, offer different perspectives and practical tools, and work alongside you to help you reach your goals.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to navigate life's challenges. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply feeling like something isn't quite right, therapy can be a place to sort through it all. My ideal client is someone who is open to exploring their thoughts and emotions, gaining a better understanding of themselves, and making meaningful changes in their life. You don't have to have everything figured out or even know exactly what you want to work on - we can figure that out together.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we work to identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. My approach is collaborative, practical, and specific to each client's unique needs and goals. I strive to provide clients with tools they can use outside of sessions to manage anxiety, improve mood, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them. Together, we work on building psychological flexibility, practicing mindfulness, and learning to navigate difficult emotions with greater self-compassion. I help clients identify what truly matters to them and take meaningful steps toward living a life that aligns with their values. My approach emphasizes accepting what we cannot control while empowering clients to make positive, intentional changes in the areas where they do have control.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help clients identify their goals, recognize what's already working in their lives, and build practical steps toward meaningful change. Rather than focusing solely on problems, we explore solutions, existing resources, and opportunities for growth. My approach is collaborative, encouraging, and goal-oriented, helping clients recognize their ability to create positive change. I believe that even small steps forward can lead to significant improvements in overall well-being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use a person-centered, humanistic approach to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and accepted. I believe each person is the expert on their own experiences, and I strive to meet clients where they are with empathy, compassion, and authenticity. My approach emphasizes building a trusting therapeutic relationship while encouraging self-exploration, personal growth, and greater self-awareness. Together, we work to identify your unique needs and goals, empowering you to make meaningful changes and live a more fulfilling life.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build upon the unique qualities, abilities, and resilience they already possess. I believe everyone has strengths, even when life's challenges make them difficult to see. Together, we explore past successes, personal resources, and existing coping skills to foster confidence, self-awareness, and growth. My goal is to empower clients to recognize their potential, overcome challenges, and create meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
