I'm Kassandra, founder and owner of Luna Licensed Mental Health Counseling. Our mission is to help clients bridge the gap between understanding themselves and actually feeling different. Like many of my clients, I've navigated anxiety, life transitions, and moments of losing touch with my own confidence, and I'm confident we can help you move toward finally feeling like YOU. Sometimes that means shedding old skin and moving through the growing pains that come with it. Like the moon, every phase is real, active, and necessary. At Luna, we help you learn to integrate them all in a way that promotes real healing.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Think of our first session as a conversation where you don't have to show up as anyone other than exactly how you're feeling that day. Underneath that, we'll be gathering some important information: what's brought you in, a bit of your history, and what you're hoping therapy can help you move toward. From there, we'll start shaping a game plan built around your goals. Throughout, I approach things from a warm, intuitive lens, meeting you where you're at as we build rapport together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strength as a clinician is my ability to attune to what a client needs in the moment, sometimes before it's even been put into words. I value transparency, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, and I try to bring all three into every session. I love what I do because I find real purpose in being able to help people, even when that just means being fully present for them. After enough rapport is built, there will be moments where you're challenged to go deeper but you won't have to worry about feeling alone in your healing journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who feels lost or dissatisfied with where their life is headed- someone who knows something needs to change but feels frozen, unsure how to actually take that first step. I also work especially well with people navigating difficult relationship patterns, particularly those with anxious attachment or people who find themselves overthinking, seeking reassurance, or bracing for disconnection.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

You come as you are, no judgment. This is especially helpful when you don't know where to start. We meet you where you're at and take the next step together.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We explore how your thoughts and emotions influence your behavior. This is especially helpful since most of our thoughts are automatic. We build the awareness and skills to slow down and challenge the thoughts that don't serve us.

Mind-body approach

We explore "top-down" (using thoughts to influence how we feel) and "bottom-up" (using the body and nervous system to influence how we think and feel) approaches, grounded in research-backed evidence like neuroscience. Often, our thoughts are disconnected from our body , aka from how we actually feel. This approach allows us to explore, little by little, how to bridge that gap and build more self-trust in your ability to make decisions.

Psychodynamic

We explore how our upbringing plays a role into our adult relational patterns. This approach also helps us learn more about your attachment-style patterns.

Trauma-Focused CBT

This explores thoughts and behaviors on a deeper level. We provide psychoeducation on the impact trauma has on the mind and body, while integrating CBT techniques throughout. This differs from more intensive, processing-based approaches like EMDR. We can assess together whether deeper trauma-focused care may be needed.
