I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York and Florida. My aim is to increase the individual's sense of his or her own wellbeing. I employ a range of techniques in my practice based on dialogue, communication and behavior change that are designed to improve the mental health of a client. I received training as an Anger Management Specialist- II and also received advanced training in Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and in grief counseling. I specialize in treating anxiety, mild depression, anger management, parenting issues, stress management, and grief. My style is collaborative and goal-oriented and my approach is active-directive and empirically based psychotherapy. I use cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy to focus on helping the client change irrational and negative beliefs, regulate emotions, and tolerate distress in order for clients to attain growth they are looking for.
In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions, then discuss specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a plan for us to work on. I also explain the type of therapy you will be getting.
I offer a space of comfort for my clients to be themselves. My approach is present oriented, goal directed and hands-on while we work on challenging thoughts and making them more rational.
I enjoy working with adults and my clients are eager to improve. They are taught with tools needed to make there goal a reality.
