As a licensed clinical social worker, I am committed to collecting evidenced based "tools for my toolbox" to aid those grappling with finding the new normal after their world has shifted. I most love helping people find language to describe their losses, often when there has been difficulty finding the words, inspiring people to find hope again, and facilitate the development of a plan to move forward in a way that both honors their experiences and embraces the future. I take an action-oriented, collaborative approach to therapy. I utilize a combination of psycho education, storytelling, and evidenced-based interventions to offer meaningful insight to support clients’ healing. I strongly believe that rock bottom is the foundation upon which we can rebuild our lives. We do regular check-ins to review progress along the way. Our goal is not to change the past, but instead to find some relief from symptoms that impact daily functioning. I will solicit feedback regularly during sessions for takeaways to gauge progress and curate treatment interventions based on what is most engaging and productive for the individual client.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, clients can expect to learn about expectations from therapy, my background, and to complete an introductory activity together to learn more about stress. I will ask you more about your goals and we will discuss our plan to move forward. We will focus on making progress while moving at a comfortable pace for you. Our time together will feel like a two-way conversation, where you will learn new skills and gain insight better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. You can expect a collaborative experience that offers you tools to walk away.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in grief and loss, trauma, and attachment. I work with a variety of populations in my social work roles including perinatal work, parenting education, homelessness, substance use, crisis intervention, child welfare, and geriatrics. Due to the diversity in my work and grief being the universal experience, I have completed extensive continuing education coursework to build, strengthen, and expand skills and continue to grow my toolbox to support clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to support clients in challenging their thoughts and gaining tools to use independently long after sessions end.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

Founded in attachment theory, along with Circle of Security, I use CPP to help build, develop, and strengthen bonds between children and their caregivers.

Gottman method

I am a trained Gottman Seven Principles Leader and Bringing Baby Home Facilitator. I utilize these resources along with initial Gottman Therapy training to offer support to individuals navigating and pursuing romantic relationships.

Grief Therapy

I support clients processes a variety of losses, both traditional and non-death related, by viewing through a lens of grief and trauma. This allows space to find the language for feelings at times when it's often had to find the words to express feelings associated with difficult experiences.
