At Renewed Mind Works, the goal is to help clients feel heard, better understand their symptoms, and develop a treatment plan that supports real-life improvement, stability, and long-term wellness.
First session
During our first session, the focus is on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to care. We will start with a general conversation to build rapport, help you feel comfortable, and give you space to share your concerns at your own pace. We will review your current symptoms, mental health history, medical history, medications, sleep, stressors, daily functioning, safety concerns, and treatment goals. If medication may be helpful, we will discuss options, benefits, possible side effects, and what to expect moving forward. The first session is collaborative and judgment-free. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and involved in your treatment plan. By the end of the visit, we will work together to identify next steps, which may include medication management, supportive therapy interventions, coping strategies, referrals when needed, and a follow-up plan.
Strengths
I bring a calm, compassionate, and practical approach to each session. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I focus on creating a supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. My approach stands out because I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive, skills-based interventions that clients can use in real life. I take time to understand the full picture, explain treatment options clearly, and involve clients in their care. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work with clients to identify patterns, improve coping skills, strengthen daily functioning, and create realistic treatment goals.
Ideal clients
I am best positioned to serve clients seeking thoughtful, practical, and compassionate mental health care that combines medication management with supportive, skills based therapeutic interventions. My approach is especially helpful for individuals who want to better understand their symptoms, improve daily functioning, and feel more in control of their mental health. Many clients come to care feeling stuck, burned out, frustrated by ongoing symptoms, or unsure whether medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of supports may be helpful.
Treatment methods
Supportive
Supportive Therapy helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, physical reactions, and behaviors. The goal is not to tell someone to think positively, but to help them recognize patterns that may be keeping symptoms going and learn practical skills to respond differently.
