Hi. I'm Jessica. I am NOT a conventional therapist. I serve as a guide on the journey of personal/spiritual development, growth, empowerment and reclamation for those who are ready to dive deeper to create the life of their dreams. My approach is holistic and wellness based which means I understand that all those patterns that may be currently keeping you from stepping into your next best Self/life served a purpose at one point in time - you won't find any judgment here. I customize your care to your specific needs to help you connect with your innate ability to heal. In our sessions, I blend compassion, some humor and a few f-bombs with holding you accountable. I help all those who are allergic to superficiality and looking to live life at a deeper level do just that. You can be spiritual + grounded af. In my work with clients, I draw most heavily on somatic therapy while also integrating mindfulness, depth psychology, shadow work, narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and ecopsychology. Your new life is waiting for you... And it will cost you your old one. When you're ready to transform, let's talk.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll cover some basics, introductions and talk about what led you to make the wise decision to get some support and guidance so you can live a life you love. I'm going to give you a little information about somatic therapy and explain why this modality is key in unlocking the life of your dreams. We'll also discuss your goals and what you want to get out of your experience in therapy. I'll assist you in getting clear on how you'll know that therapy is helping you and markers you can look for to make it obvious.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In a world of toxic positivity and "good vibes only" trends, I am well-versed in helping people explore the dark, their shadows, and those parts of themselves that hold the most shame and pain. I'm also allergic to superficiality, yet balanced enough to know when some levity is needed. I encourage and invite you to be authentically you (whether that includes snot crying or raging - it's all welcome). Holding space for and helping you achieve deep healing that is life-transforming is one of my greatest passions.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

The clients who work best with me have been "working on themselves" for a while. I work mostly with those who identify as women who, on the outside, look like they've got it together and life is fine but, on the inside it's a different story, and they long for something...more. The clients who are most successful with me tend to be intuitive, creative and are looking to delve deeper, to heal core wounds, step into their power and create an aligned life. A lot of the time, they've reached a point in their healing journey where all the practices and techniques they'd been using have stopped being enough. My clients are ready to take radical responsibility for their experiences and are done pointing fingers at things around them as the cause for all their problems. I specialize particularly in working with those who align with minority spiritual traditions (spiritual but not religious, nature-based spirituality, Pagan/Witches, etc., are all welcome here!) and who are looking for some guidance as they walk through a dark night of the soul, or need to deal with issues in their lives with someone whose jaw won't drop if they mention things like tarot/oracle cards, crystals or the impact of Pluto moving into Aquarius.

My treatment methods

Somatic

Somatic therapy is the modality I use most often. The most cutting edge research shows us that simply talking about our problems, patterns, and trauma isn't effective - we need a different way to "digest" them, so to speak, so we can find truly heal. I use somatic therapy to teach you about how your system processes its experiences, how some get stuck and how to get them unstuck, and how to tap into your innate ability to heal.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is fantastic at helping us to identify what truly matters to us as well as helping us learn how to be with what is (instead of internally fighting against all the unpleasant and unwanted experiences). When we can accept our current experiences, we become empowered and able to change them.

Mind-body approach

A mind-body approach goes hand in hand with Somatic Therapy. Our minds and bodies are connected. It's taken Western science a long time to "get" what Eastern cultures have known for millennia - that the mind and body are deeply connected. Each impacts the other, and if we're going to access true healing, we need to not only recognize that but use it to help us.

Narrative

What if instead of being at the mercy of the internal dialogue running in the background of your mind 24/7, you had access to it, understood it, and could change it at will? Narrative therapy helps us explore "the story" we (unconsciously) are telling ourselves about our experiences, the subtext of our lives that goes unspoken. Through exploring these stories, we can learn to rewrite them and change our external and internal experience.
