Venetia T. Jordan
I am a nationally certified Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Certified Master Addiction Counselor (CMAC) based in Georgia, with over a decade of experience in the mental health field. I earned my master's degree from Columbus State University and hold additional certifications and specialized training in trauma-informed care. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals navigating a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, addiction, chronic illness, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, and major life transitions.
I have experience working with various forms of trauma (several certifications), depression, anxiety, chronic illnesses, domestic violence, addictions, substance abuse, and life transitions.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual's unique experiences and needs. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. Whether you're working through past experiences, navigating present challenges, or seeking personal growth, my goal is to help you develop the insight, confidence, and practical tools needed to create meaningful, lasting change.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your concerns and experiences, and identify what you hope to accomplish. I'll also answer any questions you may have about my background, therapeutic approach, or the counseling process. Together, we'll begin identifying goals and developing a personalized treatment plan that serves as a roadmap for our work moving forward. My priority is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where you can be yourself, speak openly, and feel empowered to take an active role in your healing and personal growth. You don't have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. That's part of what we'll work through together.
Strengths
I bring compassion, empathy, authenticity, and a genuine commitment to helping others recognize their strengths and reach their full potential. I believe in meeting individuals where they are, creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where they feel heard, understood, and respected. One of my greatest strengths is helping clients recognize and build upon the internal strengths and external resources they may not realize they already possess. Through a collaborative, supportive, and empowering approach, I encourage clients to develop greater self-awareness, overcome challenges, and build the confidence and skills necessary to create meaningful, lasting change.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals who are navigating life's challenges and seeking a supportive space to heal, grow, and rediscover their sense of self. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, unresolved trauma, substance use concerns, relationship difficulties, or significant life transitions, I'm here to help. I understand that everyone's journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. My goal is to provide a compassionate, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring your experiences, and developing the tools needed to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
