As a veteran, therapist, and human being I resonate deeply with the archetype of the “wounded healer". I understand trauma and the seriousness of life's challenges not just clinically, but personally. I am assured in my professional capacity that I can provide you with the high level of care and support that you deserve; all while making therapy not feel so clinical or cold.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session will be an intake session and honestly, it'll have a little bit of paper work involved... but I'll try my best to make it a somewhat normal conversation. You can tell me about yourself, what your life has been like up until this point, maybe even what you want to accomplish with our time together. If you simply need me to listen, I got you. If you need me to have an open conversation with you, human-to-human, we can do that too. I want you to know that I am here for you! After that, we can make therapy what you need it to be.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to therapy is extremely client-centered, meaning you and your needs are always my number one priority. I also like to use elements of existential philosophy, exploration of the deeper meanings of our experiences, and solution-focused support to help each unique individual navigate their distinctive challenges. Moreover, I confidently provide trauma-informed care, often aided by EMDR, to those who are ready to address trauma in a direct and intentional manner.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am highly motivated to engage on trauma-informed care with anyone who is ready; trauma doesn't discriminate, nor do I. With that said, I have an especially strong affinity for working with fellow veterans, active duty, first responder, and men's mental health issues. I am also passionate about helping people navigate various life stressors, transitions, relationship issues, depression , anxiety, and even addiction recovery efforts.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

By exploring early experiences we can have in depth conversations to help identifying recurring beliefs or themes, understanding relationship patterns. identity and achieve personal goals, and developing more flexible ways of thinking and responding by combining many therapeutic approaches that are aimed to best support you as a unique individual.

EMDR

A direct and intentional way to address trauma head-on to being a sense of relief, understanding, perspective, and post traumatic growth that otherwise negatively impact us when left unaddressed.

Trauma Informed Care

A way of recognizing trauma symptoms and connecting their root causes through safe, supportive, and psycho-educational based discussions which bring insight and understanding to our experiences.

Psychodynamic

A very humanistic approach which allows therapy to feel more like a deep, highly supportive and nonjudgmental, human connection.

Existential

The search for meaning and purpose through the acceptance of pain, anxiety, and the finite existence of being a human.
