Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

From our first interaction—whether it’s a message, phone call, or session—my goal is to create a welcoming, supportive space. The first session is considered an intake where we will review your history, presenting concerns, and discuss goals for treatment. From there, we can develop a plan for sessions and review any other referral needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to therapy is strengths-based and action-oriented, tapping into your personal resilience while adding practical tools to help you reach your goals. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients improve their current mood, functioning and overall well-being. I am a Strong Star Network Therapist, specializing in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. I am also trained in Critical Incident Stress Management, a structured approach designed to help individuals process the psychological impact of traumatic events.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I see adults dealing with a variety of life stressors and transitions. I enjoy supporting others as they focus on self-improvement, adjusting to changes, and trying to find balance in their important life roles. Goals are collaborative but may be centered on emotion regulation, building coping strategies, improving relationships, prioritizing self-care, or enhancing stress management. In addition, I work closely with spouses of active military, veterans, and first responders on topics that affect this population, including stress management, relationship and parenting dynamics, burnout prevention, and strategies for sustaining personal well-being while managing, challenging multiple roles.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

How we view and handle our experiences impacts our overall well-being. Many times, clients are seeking counseling after distressing incidents or when their usual coping skills or supports are no longer enough. CBT provides strategies for your thinking patterns, actions, and coping skills to equip you with the tools needed for daily life, your roles / responsibilities, and challenges that come up.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapist for post-traumatic stress helps you navigate normal reactions to abnormal (traumatic) events. CPT provides a framework for processing the trauma and examining the impact, as well as addressing areas where you feel 'stuck' or coping strategies that are no longer working. It is very common to turn to 'escape' behaviors, like alcohol or substance use, following traumatic events, and therapy also focuses on developing healthy patterns for resilience and overall well-being.
