I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with seven plus years of experience working with children and families. I have worked in child welfare, substance abuse and skilled nursing. I love learning new ways I can help my clients address any presenting problems in therapy and am committed to constantly continuing my education on various therapy practices in order to provide effective treatment.
The first session will be structured to give and gather information. I will allow time to ask questions that may not have been asked during a consultation and will also provide a safe space for me to learn about you and your needs.
I like to maintain a non-judgmental attitude, providing a space where clients can freely express themselves without fear of criticism. I utilize empathy and active listening skills to allow my clients to feel validated and valued. My personal experiences have allowed me to understand the complexities of some mental health diagnoses and have given me a unique perspective. As someone who has participated in therapy personally, I understand what it can be like to search for just the right fit.
Based on my previous training and experiences, I am able to serve clients of all ages. I have experience assisting clients through addiction, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, work, school and life stressors, and family issues.
Using the person centered approach allows clients to feel empowered throughout their therapeutic journey.
