LCSW, 8 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello, I'm Timara. I have been a person in long-term recovery since 2010, and I have found my purpose in providing a safe space for others. My approach to therapy is rooted in radical acceptance and non-judgment, offering LGBTQ+ friendly and Neurodivergent-affirming care. Some of my passions are working with people with Autism, religious/cult trauma and ADHD. I am Poly and kink friendly and have experience with ENM. Using a gentle yet direct approach, I work collaboratively with you to empower yourself to make positive changes in your life. Whether you're struggling with relationships, communication issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation issues, or trouble managing stress, I'm here to help. Together, we will identify barriers and find the tools you need to successfully progress towards living a more rewarding life. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, meeting you wherever you are on your life's journey. I have spent the last 8 years specializing in substance use disorders and mental health, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I graduated from the University of Louisville with my Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) in 2020. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Kentucky and Indiana, and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Kentucky. If you're ready to take the next step towards a healthier, more fulfilling life, I would be honored to support you on your journey. Let's work together to create the positive changes you seek.
I like to think of therapy kind of like dating. The first session should be a get to know you type vibe. It’s important to have a good working relationship with your therapist
My greatest strength is my ability to provide a safe and supportive, non judgmental environment where a client can explore and grow
I don’t have an ideal client. I enjoy working with humans from all different walks of life and with all different life experiences
I pull from an eclectic mix of CBT, DBT, trauma informed, person center treatment modalities
