I am an LPC in Colorado who believes in the healing power of story-telling and humor. I blend my humanity with evidenced-based practice to support clients in meeting their goals and living a more fulfilling life.

I blend my humanity with evidenced-based practice to support clients in meeting their goals and living a more fulfilling life.

I believe that people are the keepers of the answers to their own problems, and that professional tools and a safe space can help them access those answers. Often I lean on systems theory, EMDR, IFS, and trauma-informed practices to support clients in their healing. My therapeutic style is warm but direct, insight-oriented, and flexible. Outside of the office I am a dog lover that spends most of my free time in the woods with my two rescues. You might see me on a raft on our wild and scenic rivers, or playing guitar with friends on a porch. My friends would call me a "dilly-dallier."

First session

Our first session will be a big picture session. There is a lot of ground we could cover! We will go over initial disclosures so that you feel informed about the process. I'll answer any questions about myself or how I work to make sure you feel comfortable. I will be curious about your current problems, your history, and your goals for therapy. I will give you permission to share or not share anything you like.

Strengths

For me it comes down to the respect I have for people. When you are my client I respect you, learn from you, help you reprocess the bad stuff, and make sure you are aware of the strengths that you already carry. I have years of experience and am knowledgable about interventions from a diverse field of modalities. Most importantly, I love what I do and have an immense appreciation for the human spirit. You will leave our sessions with insight, more self-compassion, and tangible tools to make progress towards your goals.

Ideal clients

I specialize in treating uncontrollable anxiety and/or panic attacks, perfectionism, childhood trauma reprocessing, and people struggling with family dynamics. If you are feeling stuck in negative thought patterns or relationship patterns and feel that it is time to change for good then we will likely work well together. It is also ok if you are not sure exactly why you are coming to therapy - we can figure that out together, too.

Treatment methods

EMDR

We can use EMDR to reprocess and desensitize trauma, triggers, and negative thought patterns. I love EMDR.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

We can explore parts of yourself, and how they interact with one another to build self-compassion and curiosity.

Attachment-based

We can explore your childhood relationships with caregivers to better understand your current tendencies, fears, and strengths in relationships.

Trauma-Focused CBT

We can address traumatic experiences by increasing your access to coping mechanisms and practicing using them while reviewing distressing memories.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

We can use mindfulness to practice distress tolerance, and nonjudgmental experiencing of symptoms.
