Hi, I’m Shannell, a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate life’s most challenging and overwhelming moments. I specialize in working with women, moms, and professionals who are balancing multiple responsibilities and often feel the weight of stress, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion. I also work with men who are ready to better understand their emotions and develop healthier ways of coping and communicating. My approach is warm, supportive, and person-centered—while also being practical and solution-focused. I create a safe space where you can be open and honest, while also helping you identify patterns, build coping skills, and move toward meaningful, lasting change. With a background in crisis counseling, acute mental health, and private practice, I understand how heavy life can feel at times—and more importantly, how to help you work through it. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a major life transition, or struggling with anxiety or depression, you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, supported, and in control of your life, I’d be honored to work with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the very beginning. We’ll start by talking about what brings you to therapy and what you’ve been experiencing. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—I’ll guide the conversation at a pace that feels right for you. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your current challenges, your history, and what you’d like to gain from therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying patterns, exploring your goals, and discussing how I can best support you moving forward. You can expect a calm, non-judgmental environment where you don’t have to “perform” or have all the answers—just a space to be open and honest. I can't wait to meet with you!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are my ability to create a genuine, supportive connection while also helping clients move toward meaningful change. Clients often appreciate that I am warm, easy to talk to, and non-judgmental, which allows them to feel comfortable opening up—even about difficult or overwhelming experiences. At the same time, I take a practical and solution-focused approach. I don’t just listen—I help you identify patterns, develop coping strategies, and apply tools that support real progress in your day-to-day life. With my background in mental health counseling across multiple settings, I’m able to meet clients where they are while also guiding them toward growth, clarity, and emotional balance.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support high functioning women, moms, and professionals who are navigating anxiety, burnout, and major life transitions. These are the clients who are used to being "the strong one"- balancing careers, family, and responsibilities-while quietly feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck. On the outside, things may appear together, but internally they may be struggling with stress, anxiety, or a sense of losing themselves. I am also positioned to work with mom who are navigating overwhelm, shifting identities, and the emotional demands that come with motherhood. I help them build confidence, improve emotional well-being, and feel more grounded in their day to day lives. Whether they are adjusting to a new season of life or trying to find balance again, therapy can be a space to process, reset, and reconnect with themselves. In addition, I support professionals who are dealing with career transitions, workplace stress, or challenges with work-life balance. These clients feel uncertain, burned out, or stretched too thin. I work together with these clients to create clarity and practical strategies to move forward.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

My approach to therapy is rooted in person-centered care, which means I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and valued. In our sessions, I use active listening, empathy, and genuine connection to build a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe that real change begins when you feel comfortable being open and honest without fear of judgment. Rather than telling you what to do, I work alongsidge you-helping you explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences while supporting you in gaining clarity, confidence, and self-awareness.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavorial Therapy (CBT) helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. In our work together, I help you identify negative or unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or stress. From there, we work on reframing those thoughts and developing healthier way of thinking and responding. I use CBT in a practical, suppportive way-giving you tools you can apply in your daily life to feel more in control, balanced, and empowered.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy is a goal-oriented approach that focuses on what's working and how to build on your strengths. Instead of staying stuck in problems, I help you identify small, meaningful steps toward the changes you want to see in your life. We focus on your goals, your progress, and practical strategies that help you move forward. This approach is especially helpful if you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of what direction to take next.
