New to Grow
I am passionate about supporting women—especially women of color—as they navigate life transitions, self-esteem hurdles, relationship issues, trauma and general mental health concerns. I've spent over 7yrs offering a warm, judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are, without needing to have everything figured out. Together, we will connect the dots between your thoughts, feelings, and actions to help you break free from unhelpful habits and safely process heavy emotions. We will focus on your natural strengths and real-world goals, giving you the clarity and support you need to unburden yourself and step into your next chapter.
Your very first session with me is entirely about building rapport and getting comfortable in this new space with a new person who is about to be in your business for the foreseeable future. When it comes to therapy, I always like to say, 'this is your world, I'm just living in it.' That means our initial time together is simply about talking through whatever you feel ready to share that day, with absolutely zero pressure. We will just chat about your day-to-day life—like your work, school, hobbies, and social support network—so we can get to know each other naturally. This laid-back approach sets the foundation for our work together, ensuring you feel safe, heard, and completely in control of your healing journey from day one.
What makes me unique as a therapist is my genuine, real-world approach—I don't show up as a rigid blank slate, but as a real person who meets you exactly where you are at. Having worked across many different settings and diverse populations, I have learned that no matter who I am serving, a therapist is only as helpful as their ability to truly listen and understand. Through my extensive work with women, and especially women of color, I have observed the unique difficulties and complex experiences you face, and I use that insight to bridge the gap in your care. I am fiercely realistic about the systemic obstacles, cultural pressures, and life hurdles that are completely out of your control, and we will look at them honestly and navigate them together as a team.
My ideal clients are women navigating a major life transitions, or anyone wanting to focus on their overall mental health, self-esteem, and overcoming life's hurdles. You are ready to move intentionally toward your goals and dreams, refusing to be defined by past trauma, family dynamics, or relationship difficulties. There is no pressure to have it all figured out; I just ask that you remain open to trying new paths and willing to challenge yourself along the way. Most importantly, show up exactly as you are in that moment—whether you are feeling strong, tired, or completely overwhelmed—because your true self is always your best self in therapy.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In our sessions, I use CBT to help you identify the hidden negative thoughts and core beliefs driving your stress, trauma, or major life transitions. Together, we will look closely at how these automatic thoughts trigger difficult emotions and cause you to react in ways that leave you feeling stuck or overwhelmed. By connecting the dots between your mind, your feelings, and your actions, I will help you safely process your emotions so you can break free from unhelpful habits. My goal is to give you practical tools to reframe your inner narrative, find relief, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
In our sessions, I use a Person-Centered approach to provide a warm, safe, and completely judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are. I believe that you are the ultimate expert on your own life and experiences, so we will work completely at your pace. My goal is to listen deeply and support you unconditionally, helping you connect with your inner wisdom so you can heal and grow on your own terms.
Psychoeducation
In our sessions, I weave in psychoeducation to help you understand how your mind, body, and background all connect. We will explore how stress and trauma physically change your brain responses, and we will identify the exact ways your mental health manifestations show up as physical tension or fatigue in your body. We will also look at how your culture, race, and unique lived experiences shape how you navigate the world and process your emotions. My goal is to give you clear, validating insights so you can make sense of your experiences and move forward with deep self-compassion.
