I am a passionate professional with 20 years experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I have had the great privilege of working with people from a variety of backgrounds in a variety of settings. This gives me a great experience and perspective into how to best support those who I work with. It also means there are few things I haven't seen, heard or experienced. It is a great honor to be able to bare witness to people's stories and support them on their journey of self discovery and personal growth.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In a first session clients can expect to discuss the reasons they are seeking therapy at this time. They can also expect to go over some personal history and standard practices and protocols. The first session is also an important time to go over what a clients hopes and expectations are for entering into therapy. What outcomes are they looking for?

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider far and away is my compassion for others and the shared human experience. Empathy is also another one of my greatest strengths and serves me well as a mental provider and in all other aspects of life. Lastly, my vast professional experience has gifted me with a diverse experience of clientele.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I am a seasoned professional who has years of experience using a variety of methods of treatment including but, not limited to, traditional talk therapy, CBT, DBT skills, mindfulness, play therapy, animal assisted therapy and trauma informed care. The issues we struggle with usually have a multitude of origins and it is often necessary to use a variety of methods to target them. The most important this is tailor the work in a compassionate, client center manner.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is one modality that helps the client target more specific goals with more concrete exercises and assignments that maybe less based in processing issues and more solution focused.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a modality that offers amazing skills that people can begin practicing right away to cope with painful and invasive feelings and limit impulses. I do not do traditional DBT therapy as it was created but, use and teach clients DBT skills that they can practice to improve the quality of their lives.
