I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York and I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I am a national board-certified counselor, board-certified clinical mental health counselor, and board-certified approved clinical supervisor. I have been in practice for 20 years and have focused my practice and supporting people dealing with life transitions and traumatic or disturbing events.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we will start by discussing the logistics and legal elements of working together. We will spend the remaining time getting to know each other through developing your therapy goals. I will share more details about who I am as a clinician and how I help people. We will also focus on answering any questions you may have, to ensure that our therapeutic relationship will be a valuable one for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a clinician is grounding my respect for all people's cultural contexts. As a person with their own Intersectionality's who has it been impacted by systemic oppression, I comprehend the importance of seeing and hearing the person I'm working with. This quality has promoted strong therapeutic relationships with my clients and has promoted effective and accurate treatment to assist clients in resolving the issues efficiently.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

Adlerian therapy is grounded and the idea that our personalities develop through our relationships in childhood. Our childhood experiences create templates of how we interact in our various relationships in the future. When applying Adlerian therapy, we are focused on building a therapeutic relationship to work through any perspectives and experiences that may be impacting your day-to-day life.

EMDR

I've been practicing EMDR clinician for more than 17 years and held an EMDR certification and twas an approved consultant to provide supervision for EMDR. EMDR supports resolving past disturbing experiences that are impacting life today. Specifically focusing on perceived traumatic experiences, Emdr supports resolution by tapping into the natural healing ability of the mind. One of the great benefits of EMDR is that the client does not have to verbally recount disturbing a traumatic experiences. Emdr can also be an efficient way to resolve challenges.

Gestalt

Gestalt therapy works to resolve unfinished business by bringing unresolved concerns into the present. This is an active therapy that involves creativity and imagination.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

REBT is a valuable cognitive therapy that defines self talk is either rational or irrational. The work done using REBT supports a client adjusting cognitive perspectives to be more in alignment with the reality of their life.

Multicultural

All work that I do is grounded in cultural context. A persons cultural context defines perspectives and impacts on one's life. An important factor in clinical work is that the clinician is including the cultural context of the client. Specifically any Intersectionality the client may identify with along with the impacts of systemic oppression, systemic power, and systemic privilege.
