Anita Groll
Welcome! I'm Anita Groll, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 25 years of experience helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your concerns and exploring your feelings. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I believe therapy is a journey we take together, helping you gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful changes in your life.
First session
During our first session, my priority is to help you feel comfortable, welcomed, and understood. We will take time to get to know each other, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore the challenges you may be facing. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences, concerns, and what you hope to achieve through counseling. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and discussing how therapy can best support your needs. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, supported, and encouraged, with a clearer sense of how we can move forward together.
Strengths
I bring over 25 years of clinical experience, genuine compassion, and a deep respect for each person's unique experiences. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to listen carefully, create a safe and nonjudgmental environment, and help clients feel truly heard and understood. My approach is gentle yet direct. I believe in offering both empathy and honest feedback, helping clients recognize patterns, explore different perspectives, and discover their own strengths. I also bring patience, warmth, and a practical approach to helping clients develop healthier ways of coping and make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult who may be feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief, or significant life transitions. They may feel stuck, uncertain about the future, or simply want to understand themselves better and improve their emotional well-being. I enjoy working with individuals who are open to exploring their thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior, even if they are unsure where to begin. You don't need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want from therapy. My goal is to provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where we can work together to gain insight, build confidence, develop healthier coping skills, and create meaningful changes in your life.
Treatment methods
Integrative
I believe that therapy should be tailored to each person because no two individuals are exactly alike. I draw from different therapeutic approaches depending on your needs, concerns, and personal goals. Sometimes our work may focus on understanding past experiences and emotional patterns, while other times we may concentrate on practical coping skills and finding solutions to current challenges. My approach combines compassion, thoughtful guidance, and gentle encouragement to help you gain insight, build confidence, and make meaningful changes in your life.
