Kiera McClellan
Hi, I'm Kiera, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, honesty, and practical support. Throughout my career, I have worked in crisis intervention, inpatient behavioral health, residential, addiction treatment, and outpatient therapy, supporting individuals and families facing anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use concerns, life transitions, and emotional distress. I believe therapy should be a collaborative and judgment-free space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences openly. My approach combines empathy, accountability, and evidence-based techniques to help clients gain insight, build resilience, and develop healthier coping strategies. Whether you're experiencing a difficult season of life or seeking personal growth, I am committed to helping you move toward meaningful and lasting change.
First session
Our first session is all about understanding your story. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. I'll ask questions to better understand your background, relationships, coping strategies, and strengths, but there is no pressure to share everything at once. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being honest and authentic. You don't need to have the right words or a clear plan before starting therapy. We'll work together to identify your goals, explore what's getting in the way, and begin building a path forward that feels right for you.
Strengths
What sets my approach apart is my willingness to help clients have the hard conversations—both with others and with themselves. Many people come to therapy knowing something needs to change but feeling unsure where to start. I help clients identify patterns, increase self-awareness, and develop practical tools for creating meaningful change. I am known for building rapport quickly, asking thoughtful questions, and balancing empathy with honest feedback. My goal is not only to help clients feel better, but also to help them better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life's challenges.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is motivated to understand themselves on a deeper level and ready to make meaningful changes in their life. You may be navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, boundaries, or simply feel stuck and unsure of what comes next. I work best with clients who are open to self-reflection, willing to be honest with themselves, and ready to actively participate in the therapeutic process. Therapy is a collaborative space where we can explore what’s been holding you back, challenge unhelpful patterns, and help you build a life that feels more aligned with who you are and where you want to go.
