LPC, 5 years of experience
First and foremost, my work is always person-centered; empathy and collaboration are the core of my therapeutic approach. We know that when it comes to your life, you are the expert. Whether you've uncovered it or not, you hold the deepest understanding of your past experiences, future goals, fears, desires, regrets, joys, and every other component of who you are. My role as your therapist is joining you on your journey to self-improvement and understanding, while being fully present and actively listening to ensure you feel heard and understood. As we dive into your mind, I engage by drawing from my education and training to give insight, offer a new perspective, propose solutions for change, identify helpful coping skills, and assist in various ways based on your individual needs.
Your first session is all about getting to know you. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, talk through your goals, and begin to map out what support might look like for you. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences and the patterns in your life, but there’s no pressure to share everything all at once—you set the pace. By the end, you’ll have a sense of my style and we’ll discuss how we might work together moving forward.
The majority of my experience has focused on the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe there is therapeutic value in shared experiences and as a queer-identifying therapist, I'm passionate about helping others in my community. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and gender nonconforming adolescents, as well as adult couples, polyamorous folks, and ethical non-monogamy. I also have 5 years of experience working with children, teens, and families in a variety of mental health settings. I enjoy working with individuals to address identity exploration, anxiety, and feelings of inadequacy. With couples and families, my work emphasizes relationship-building, effective communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Teens, young adults, couples, LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals, couples, and polycules.
I specialize in working with queer young adults and couples, with a particular focus on relationship dynamics and communication. Whether supporting couples and polyamorous relationships in navigating conflict resolution or helping individuals explore identity and manage anxiety, my approach is grounded in fostering connection and understanding. I am passionate about empowering clients to build healthier relationships with themselves and others.

Thank you Liz for being so open and for creating an environment of support. This was my first time feeling so safe with a therapist. I also appreciated the foundation of our introduction meeting.

It was important to me, when looking for a therapist, that we shared certain facets of our lived experiences. Seeing LGBT+ issues & she/they pronouns in Liz’s profile, that we were likely closer in at than my last therapist, were all factors in deciding to book that first appointment. Finding out that we share an ethnic background and their demeanor in those first sessions, further drove home the point that I’d feel understood in my sessions at a level I hadn’t experienced with another provider.
