I’m a trauma‑competent, adoption‑competent therapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, identity questions, and the impact of family systems. I’ve been in practice for over 15 years and use an ACT‑forward, relational approach that helps clients feel grounded, capable, and aligned with their values. I work especially well with adoptees, men, and adults carrying complex childhood experiences who want practical tools, honest reflection, and a space that doesn’t pathologize their story.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is focused on understanding what brings you in, what you’ve already tried, and what matters most to you right now. I’ll ask about your history at a pace that feels manageable, and we’ll identify the patterns, stressors, or values that are shaping your current experience. You can expect a grounded, collaborative conversation—not a checklist. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clear sense of your goals and how we can work together in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and meaningful for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths come from years of trauma‑competent, adoption‑competent work and a deep understanding of how identity, culture, and family systems shape a person’s life. I’m skilled at helping clients make sense of complex experiences without judgment or pathologizing. My ACT‑forward approach blends practical tools with values‑based work, helping clients build psychological flexibility and move toward the life they want. Clients often tell me they feel seen, understood, and supported in ways they haven’t experienced before.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, identity questions, and the impact of family systems. Many of my clients are adoptees or adults carrying complex childhood experiences, but I also support people facing stress, grief, sleep issues, or major life transitions. My clients tend to be thoughtful, motivated, and looking for practical tools that help them feel grounded, capable, and aligned with their values.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help clients build psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, make room for difficult thoughts and emotions, and move toward what matters. My work is trauma‑competent and identity‑aware, especially with adoptees, families of color, and clients navigating complex attachment histories. In session, I blend mindfulness, values clarification, and practical skills that clients can use immediately. ACT allows us to honor your lived experience without pathologizing it, while building a life that aligns with your values and strengths.

Attachment-based

My attachment work focuses on how early relationships shape current patterns of safety, connection, and identity. This is especially important for adoptees, families of color, and clients navigating complex family systems. Together, we build secure, flexible ways of relating — to yourself and to others — without shame or pathologizing your history

Trauma Informed Care

I integrate trauma‑competent care across all modalities. I help clients understand how their nervous system responds to stress, loss, and relational injury, and we build regulation skills that support healing without re‑traumatization. My work centers lived experience, cultural identity, and the impact of chronic stress.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to help clients separate themselves from the stories imposed on them — by family, culture, trauma, or adoption systems. We identify the dominant narratives shaping your life and build space for alternative stories rooted in agency, identity, and values.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients identify strengths, exceptions, and small, meaningful steps forward. This approach works well alongside ACT and trauma‑competent care, especially for clients who need momentum and clarity without getting lost in the past.
