Do you often feel weighed down by life stressors? If your mood shifts cause you to feel like you are on an emotional roller coaster, come talk to me. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) within Ca. I received my master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brandman University in Riverside, Ca. I have over 22 years experience(case management, behavior health specialist, therapist) working in the public and private sector. I am experienced in working with children, adolescents/ teenagers, parents, individuals, couples and older adults utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, communication therapy and structural therapy etc. My philosophy is that every behavior serves a purpose and meets a need. My approach to therapy is person-centered, holistic, and eclectic when needed. Techniques include mindfulness practices, out-side-of-the box strategies, and strength-based approaches. Remember, the first step toward change is just a phone call away. I believe in meeting you where you are to work with you to address core causes of difficulty and help you better manage life obstacles. My focus is to provide a safe space for you to be open and honest, support you in your process, and empower you with tools you can use. I look forward to hearing from you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will introduce myself, tell you about my qualifications, ask you if you have any questions, discuss confidentiality/mandated reporting, discuss expectations and conduct intake/assessment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are that I have a way of making people feel comfortable. I am often told by the member's I serve, that being in session with me feels like talking to an old friend, while knowing that there is a therapeutic connection. When appropriate I use humor and personal disclosure if it helps you increase your understanding. I assure you that your experiences in session with me will be like no other!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using CBT treatment methods as long as I have been a therapist (over 7 years). This modality allows me to assist you in understanding the connection between your thoughts, your feelings and your behaviors. Not only do I provide detailed information to you, but I provide tangible CBT tools that you can use outside of session to make small changes that over time lead to big results. By me using CBT methods I will help you eliminate avoidant and safety-seeking behaviors that prevent self-correction of faulty beliefs; thereby facilitating stress reducing coping tools that enhance your mental health.
