New to Grow
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Psychology, followed by my Masters in Forensic Psychology. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology as well. I really enjoy working in the mental health field. I am passionate about helping others on their mental health journey. I use multiple modalities in my approach with clients. I believe in order for a client to reach their goals they must have a strong therapeutic alliance with their therapist. I always strive to make sure my clients feel welcomed, understood, heard and respected. I have experience with the following disorders: Life Challenges Depression/Mood Brief Psychotic Anxiety OCD and Traumatic Stress Disorders.
What to Expect After Your First Session Congratulations on taking the first step toward your healing journey. Beginning therapy is a courageous decision, and I want you to know that you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. After our first session, you can expect to leave with a better understanding of why you sought therapy and the goals we will begin working toward together. During our initial meeting, I take time to get to know you, learn about your experiences, identify your strengths, and understand the challenges that have brought you here. Following your first session, you may experience a range of emotions. Some clients feel relieved and hopeful, while others feel emotionally drained or continue reflecting on topics we discussed. All of these responses are completely normal. Healing often begins by acknowledging emotions that may have been pushed aside for a long time. As we continue working together, we will create a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and unique needs. Depending on your concerns, we may incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, solution-focused techniques, or other interventions that best support your growth. You may also receive practical strategies, coping skills, worksheets, or reflection exercises between sessions to help reinforce what we discuss in therapy. These tools are designed to help you build confidence, increase self-awareness, and apply new skills in your everyday life. Please remember that therapy is a process—not a quick fix. Growth takes time, consistency, and compassion for yourself. There may be moments that feel challenging, but each session is an opportunity to move closer to healing, resilience, and the life you desire. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we will celebrate your progress, work through obstacles, and help you develop the tools needed to create lasting, meaningful change. You have already taken the hardest step by showing up. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and emotional wellness.
What Strengths Do I Bring to Our Sessions? Every person who walks through my door has a unique story, and I believe that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and understood. My role is not to tell you who to be but to help you discover the strength that already exists within you. When we work together, you can expect me to bring: A safe, judgment-free space where you can openly share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of criticism. Compassion and empathy that allow you to feel supported while navigating life’s challenges. Active listening so you feel heard, valued, and understood. Authenticity and honesty in our conversations, creating a genuine therapeutic relationship built on trust. Evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs, including CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care when appropriate. A strengths-based perspective that helps identify your resilience, abilities, and personal resources instead of focusing solely on problems. Cultural humility and respect for your unique background, identity, values, and lived experiences. Encouragement and accountability to help you stay committed to the goals you set for yourself while celebrating your progress along the way. Practical tools and coping strategies that you can use outside of sessions to build confidence, improve emotional regulation, and navigate everyday challenges. Hope and empowerment by helping you recognize that healing, growth, and meaningful change are possible. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership. While I bring clinical knowledge, guidance, and support, you bring your lived experiences, strengths, and willingness to grow. Together, we will work toward helping you build resilience, improve emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, and create a life that aligns with your values and purpose. My commitment is to meet you where you are, honor your journey, and support you every step of the way.

I identify as
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use DBT to help clients better manage overwhelming emotions, cope with stress, improve relationships, and respond thoughtfully instead of reacting impulsively. Together, we’ll learn practical skills to help you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your emotions.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT helps you stop struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings so they have less control over your life. Together, we’ll focus on accepting what you can’t change, identifying what matters most to you, and taking meaningful steps toward the life you want to live.
Adlerian
Adlerian Therapy helps us understand how your life experiences, relationships, and beliefs have shaped who you are today. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, identify patterns that may be holding you back, and build healthier ways of connecting with yourself and others.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps you recognize how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. We’ll work together to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier coping strategies that improve your mood and daily life.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
CPT is designed to help people recover from trauma by examining how difficult experiences have affected the way they think about themselves, others, and the world. Together, we’ll work through those beliefs, reduce emotional distress, and help you move forward with greater confidence and resilience.
