About me

Are you struggling to make changes in your life? Are you paralyzed by addiction? Overwhelmed with anxiety? Stuck in depression? Burdened by past trauma? I am here to help! As an experienced clinical social worker and a person in long term recovery myself, I am passionate about empowering, inspiring, and encouraging others towards growth and self-improvement. I specialize in treating adults with addictions, co-occurring disorders, anxiety, depression, stress management and building self-esteem.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what's been happening in your life, what you would like to change, and what you hope to gain from our work together. You will not be expected to share everything all at once. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable. I want you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood and hopeful about the work ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is first and foremost strength-based, which means I believe every person has positive attributes, talents and skills, despite current challenges. Every client is unique. When the time is right, I want to hear your story. Creating a safe place is very important to me, so that you feel comfortable to tell you story and plan you future. It is my hope that clients will feel empowered and confident to take the necessary steps, making progress towards their journey for growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who may appear successful or capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or disconnected on the inside. You may be navigating trauma, grief, relationship challenges, major life transitions, perfectionism, or patterns that no longer serve you. I also enjoy working with individuals impacted by substance use or recovery who want to better understand themselves beyond simply managing symptoms. My ideal client is someone who is open to self-reflection and ready to develop greater emotional flexibility, healthier patterns, and a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use ACT to help you change your relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than constantly fighting against them. Together, we’ll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, clarify what truly matters to you, and develop practical ways to move toward the life you want—even when anxiety, fear, grief, or uncertainty shows up. The goal isn’t to eliminate uncomfortable feelings, but to help you become more flexible, present, and confident in how you respond to them.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we’ll identify patterns of thinking or responding that may contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, or feeling stuck. You’ll learn practical strategies for challenging unhelpful patterns, developing healthier perspectives, and responding to difficult situations in ways that better support your goals.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore areas of your life where you may feel stuck, uncertain, or conflicted about making a change. Rather than telling you what you should do, we’ll work together to understand what’s important to you, identify barriers to change, and strengthen your own motivation and confidence. This approach can be especially helpful when making changes related to relationships, substance use, recovery, health, or other important life decisions.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness to help you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses without immediately reacting to them. You’ll learn practical ways to stay grounded in the present, manage stress and anxiety, and create space between what you feel and how you choose to respond. Mindfulness can help you develop greater emotional awareness, self-compassion, and flexibility in navigating difficult experiences.

Trauma Informed Care

I use a trauma-informed approach to help you understand how difficult experiences may continue to influence your emotions, relationships, beliefs, and responses today. We focus not only on what happened to you, but also on how you learned to cope and what you need now. Our work emphasizes safety, choice, and empowerment while helping you process the past, develop healthier patterns, and move forward with a greater sense of control.
