New to Grow
Congratulations on taking the first step - reaching out for support! I have been working in the mental health field for over 9 years, and have a history of working with individuals, groups, as well as in crisis settings. I provide open-minded, empathetic, and solution focused care. Your goals are my goals, and I strive each session to support your strength and self-empowerment. We will work together to navigate and cope with stressors.
We will work together to make you feel supported and understood. Providing a safe place for healing and growth is essential, and I will support you in cultivating your inner strength.
We will be active in sessions, as I prioritize supporting you in identifying stressors, patterns, and supportive coping strategies. I work to provide treatment that is supportive for all, including using visuals if this would be helpful for the individual person. I have experience working with individuals with mood and safety concerns, and I want to walk with you in your journey towards healing. Additionally, I have a strong passion for working with those in the LGBTQ+ community and supporting the unique concerns that our community faces.
I thoroughly enjoy supporting adolescents and adults that are struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as those in the LGBTQ+ community. When clients come to sessions ready to make changes and explore difficult parts of our life, I love to take steps with them, be engaged in sessions, as well as celebrate the wins. Individuals who struggle with executive dysfunction can greatly be supported by use of clear and concise problem solving, while those exploring their trauma will benefit from safe and well thought out exploration. I want to meet you where you are at.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We will work together to identify those thoughts and feelings that we can't seem to shake, and then we will see how these thoughts and feelings feed off of each other. I will support you in adjusting unhelpful and unsupportive thoughts and feelings, which in turn will create healthier and more adaptive actions in our life.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Sometimes our feelings are HUGE. In these cases, we will look at ways to tolerate big feelings, adjust them, and keep ourselves safe during the high intensity times.
Gender-affirming therapy
Your gender identity is valid, point blank. We can explore your identity and how it impacts you, as well as how the fluidity of gender can present in your life.
Narrative
Sometimes when life has thrown us too many curveballs, our self-esteem can take a hit. When this happens, it can be empowering to rewrite our story, highlighting our strengths.
