New to Grow
Hi! I’m Jessica, a therapist of 20 years, wife, and mother! I’m also a feisty advocate for my clients, a trauma-trained therapist, and a gentle healer. I got my degrees at the University of North Carolina (go Heels!) and Smith College. I began practicing in North Carolina, but have been back in Maryland for 18 years. I love to write, read, run, and travel.
In our first session, I really want to make sure you’re comfortable. We will talk about what helps you relax and we will begin to get to know each other.
I work from a client-centered space. I listen more than I talk, but I give feedback gently and directly. My clients often say that they feel heard, held, inspired, and challenged. I help people see their patterns and help them change what may not be working. I help people get to know all the parts of themselves and start to look at how their feelings work. The relationship between us helps clients grow, heal, and change.
I help people navigate family conflict and parenting challenges find their path to more peace and joy. Managing anxiety, worry, and depression in the face of life challenges can feel like failure, but I promise you-you’re not failing. Let’s work together to help you out of this hole! I’ll help you find ways to take care of yourself and understand your patterns so that you can thrive.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I use a number of different theories to inform my work, but everyone needs something different. I will get to know you and we will work toward healing together.
