Have you tried therapy but just didn’t get anywhere? New to therapy and not sure what to look for? Have a great life but feeling unfulfilled, having trouble navigating important relationships, or experiencing strong feelings that seem to come out of nowhere? I’ve helped countless others explore these and similar issues in the many years I’ve provided therapy for individuals and families. I have an uncanny ability to gently and compassionately challenge what may be happening, often leading to insight and a new found ability to make real and lasting changes so you can focus on what matters most to you: your family, your education, your career, your mental well-being. Whether you are dealing with Relationship/friendship issues, parenting challenges, workplace issues or unresolved conflicts, I listen with an understanding ear. I help people address intense anxiety, ADHD, and mild depression even when most components in life seem to be going quite well. Sometimes things aren’t working because, well, they’re not working. My clients include people from various backgrounds and situations, from intact families to those estranged or low/no contact in family status. I see clients employed as teachers, nurses, research scientists, a dentist, a CEO, an HR executive, a cheese monger, both new and seasoned “stay-at-home” care-givers and many people studying in college, graduate programs, or obtaining post-graduate degrees. Whoever you are, from whatever background, I listen intently to your story and can help bring awareness into what may be obstacles to living a peaceful, serene, healthy life. As different as people are, I have discovered that some of our patterns and dynamics are very much the same. You don’t have to carry your emotional pain all on your own. I can help.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In the first session, we focus on exploring, in broad strokes, all facets of the client's life. We start with introductions and then move into many (so many) questions from the therapist designed to do a shallow dive to see what is important to you and where you may be experiencing challenges. What you wish to include or elaborate on is entirely up to you, an aspect that the therapist will discuss further in session. Ultimately, we land on what you may mostly need to explore in therapy and your specific steps you can take to achieve your therapeutic goals. We wrap up with any questions you may have as well as what you can expect from therapy moving forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I offer an empathetic and direct approach which often involves support, insightful feedback, and a different perspective. My strengths as a therapist reflect a deep understanding that while each of our stories are very different, the patterns we may operate from are uncannily similar. I listen with a discerning ear to what may be unclear to individuals and use gentle responses to illicit new understandings and a new ability to move forward with a calm, purposeful confidence.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Clients who work with me are open and ready to make a real change in their lives. I work with people who may have obtained many career and relationship goals and yet are often experiencing significant anxiety, mild to moderate depressive symptoms, or other problems of which they may not yet be aware. I tend to see people for several weeks to a few months as these interventions can often give people agency and a newfound ability to center and thrive.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
ACT is a highly effective modality for work with individuals facing challenges with interrelational difficulties and life event transitions.
Attachment-based
While very popular in social media right now, there are an abundance of misunderstandings about attachment. These patterns of behavior and underlying motivations for such are a complex derivative of earlier experiences resulting in maladaptive practices. We explore these patterns, and I help shift perspectives, effectively changing interpersonal dynamics.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
A close cousin to CBT, cognitive restructuring takes into consideration how a person thinks and the ensuing feelings, thoughts, and behaviors resulting from same. I often utilize this classic reframe technique.

I felt comfortable with Elizabeth right from the beginning of our call. She has an energy that I felt was very authentic, non judgmental and comforting. With her experience and her own personal life experiences, I feel she can relate a lot better to one with the same or similar issues. I feel this is very important when working with a therapist. I am optimistic about working with her and feel that she can help me through my struggles.
