Hi there! My name is Shauna Kelly. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Yoga Teacher, and Astrologer. I work with young adults and adults, bringing over three years of experience to my private practice. Using a holistic, trauma-informed approach, I supports clients in their journey of healing and personal growth. Through cultivating deep self-awareness and radical self-acceptance, I empower my clients to create lasting transformation from the inside out.
I encourage my clients to come into this work with curiosity and intention. To be open-hearted, open-minded, and trust in their ability to grow. Before our first session, I gather brief intake information, but our first real session is a deep dive into all areas of life. It may feel a bit sporadic, but this helps me build a strong foundation to understand you. I ask that you trust the process—rapport-building is key, and you should like who you’re talking to! Together, we’ll create a space where healing feels natural, empowering, and uniquely yours.
I see myself as a student of life, always absorbing new information, techniques, and methodologies which to me is my greatest strength. Lately, my focus has been on mindfulness and breathwork practices and their transformative effects on both the mind and body. I like to practice what I preach, incorporating these techniques into my own life to experience their benefits firsthand. I stay engaged through trainings, workshops, and research, continually deepening my understanding. Exploring the connection between breath, nervous system regulation, and emotional well-being has been powerful, and I’m committed to evolving my practice to best support my clients.
I am best positioned to serve clients who are ready to engage in their personal growth with intention and openness. My approach is ideal for individuals dealing with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, challenges with self-worth, and emotional overwhelm. I also work with clients looking to explore mindfulness, somatic practices, and self-discovery as part of their healing journey. Whether seeking evidence-based therapy or a more holistic approach, I offer a supportive space where clients can engage in meaningful growth that is tailored to their unique needs and goals.
Mindfulness-based therapy is at the heart of my practice, helping clients tune into the present moment, regulate emotions, and cultivate self-compassion. Through breathwork, meditation, and grounding techniques, I guide you in slowing down, noticing patterns, and creating space for healing—without judgment. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, or big life shifts, mindfulness helps you reconnect with yourself, find balance, and move through life with more ease and intention. It’s about getting out of autopilot and into alignment with what truly feels good for you.
Our minds process around 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts a day—that’s a lot for the brain to sort through! CBT helps you catch and shift the thought patterns that might be keeping you stuck. It’s about recognizing those mental loops that fuel stress, anxiety, or self-doubt and learning how to reframe them in a way that actually supports you. Think of it as a mindset upgrade—challenging old beliefs, rewriting your narrative, and creating habits that bring more ease and confidence. I keep it practical, approachable, and infused with mindfulness, so it feels less like work and more like a meaningful shift in how you experience life.
My approach is rooted in the Rogerian, person-centered method, which means I focus on creating a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported—without judgment or pressure. I believe you already have the wisdom and strength within you to grow and heal; my role is to help you tap into it. Through deep listening, reflection, and genuine connection, we’ll navigate your journey together at your own pace. There’s no “fixing” here—just a collaborative, open space for you to explore, process, and move toward a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling.
