I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Indiana. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Purdue University and my Master of Social Work from Indiana University. I have worked in a residential facility for teens for the past 3+ years. I have experience working with families, LGBTQ+, military families, veterans, teens and adolescents. I specialize in women’s issues, mood disorders, perinatal experiences, parent-child relationships, and life transitions. My ideal client knows that they want a different life and may need help deciding where to begin.
In our first session, we will talk about your history and what works or doesn't work for you. We will then define goals together and talk about how I can help you accomplish them.
My greatest strength as a provider is my ability to connect with clients and their human experiences. I am compassionate and encouraging when clients are vulnerable with me. I am also direct and challenge unhealthy thoughts and behaviors to encourage new ways of being.
Are you experiencing long-term effects from your trauma? Are trying to overcome your trauma and just don't know where to begin? Feeling misunderstood, alone, and overwhelmed are common problems in individuals who have experienced trauma. You may also feel like your thoughts are spiraling and you have an intense distrust of others. Whether you've experienced trauma as a child or in an abusive relationship as an adult, I can help. I will work with you to learn self-love, stand up for yourself, and tend to those emotions you have been suppressing. Together, we will pay attention to your experiences and acknowledge that the past does not define your future. If you are motivated to understand your past and learn how to move forward, contact me today, and we'll figure it out together!
I have education and experience in attachment theory and family systems. I can explore and process trauma experienced from adoption, sexual abuse, foster care placement, military deployment, parental incarceration, and death of a parent.
I have experience with clients who have had traumatic experiences and they had to suppress their thoughts and feelings to survive. In our sessions, we will pause and pay attention to understand what our brains and bodies have been trying to tell us.
I have education and experience working with couples who have problems with infidelity, consensual non-monogamy, addiction, and parenting. I use a solution-focused approach to address these problems. I create a space where all partners are heard so they can best support each other.
I have an understanding of how culture impacts our lives, relationships, and mental health. I value diversity, honor beliefs, and actively listen to your lived experiences.
I have more than 3 years of experience working in a DBT immersive residential treatment facility for teens and adolescents. I can help clients with mood and personality disorder to improve mindfulness, tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and communicate effectively.
