As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I am passionate about supporting teens and young (in age and at heart) adults, particularly those navigating life’s complexities and searching for a path to inner peace and balanced character. With a background in both psychology and health science (earning a double major Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science with concentrations in Social and Behavioral and Biological Health Science from the University of South Florida), I integrate a holistic understanding of mental, social, and physical well-being into my therapeutic practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session with me, you can expect a relaxed, welcoming space where we start by getting to know each other. I’ll ask about what brought you to therapy and what goals or hopes you have for our work together. We’ll discuss your background, current challenges, and any questions you might have about the process. I’ll explain my approach, including how I integrate techniques from different therapeutic models to personalize your treatment, and I’ll invite you to share any preferences or concerns you may have. This session is about setting a foundation of trust and clarity, so you feel comfortable and empowered as we begin your journey.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Cultural competence is at the heart of my practice, and I draw on the principles of Iwapele (balanced character and harmony) and Amani (peace) to guide my approach. Together, we’ll collaborate in a safe, non-judgmental space, exploring your experiences, uncovering areas for growth, and building a toolkit that helps you feel empowered to make lasting change.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

In my practice, I use an eclectic therapeutic approach because each person brings their own unique experiences, challenges, and strengths. This approach allows me to tailor our work together to your specific needs, integrating techniques from CBT, TFCBT, MI, SFBT, mindfulness, and other therapeutic approaches to provide the most effective support. By drawing on multiple therapeutic frameworks, I can address complex issues, whether you’re working through trauma, seeking peace and balance, or simply aiming to improve how you relate to yourself and others. This flexibility empowers us to adapt and find what resonates most deeply for you, making therapy a collaborative and personalized journey.
