Hi there! I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Florida and New York. I specialize in life transitions, existential issues, relational uncertainties, anxiety, and trauma. I received my Master's degree from Nova Southeastern University and am currently working on my PhD. I have been practicing in various therapeutic settings with individuals, couples, and families for the past six years.
In our first session, I'll introduce myself and answer any questions you might have about me or the therapeutic process. You can expect me to ask you some questions as well. For example, I might ask you about your past experiences with therapy and what motivated you to schedule a session now.
My greatest strength as a therapist is to be present with you and your world, continuously checking in to ensure I have as close to an accurate understanding of your experiences so that when I offer guidance and support, it is tailored to your specific circumstances.
I take a person-centered approach, blending and adapting various therapeutic techniques to support each client's unique needs. My clients range from individuals coming to therapy with specific concerns to those who can't pinpoint an issue but know that they want to explore their lives and minds. In all cases, my aim is to provide a supportive space for adults, couples, and families to explore their lives and find meaning.
I use a blend of CBT and externalization from Narrative therapy to identify and reframe thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and challenging behaviors.
I use a bottom-up approach to focus on calming the body when working with clients who have experienced trauma or have been diagnosed with PTSD.
I use this approach with all my clients to emphasize empathy, client autonomy, and each individual's unique perspective, journey, circumstances, and struggles.
