I am a therapist who works collaboratively with individuals and parents navigating anxiety, life transitions, emotional regulation, and behavioral challenges. My approach is grounded in evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Motivational Interviewing for substance use concerns. I also incorporate mindfulness-based practices to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical coping skills. I value working with clients who are ready to engage in the therapeutic process and make meaningful changes in their lives. My style is warm, direct, and supportive, with a focus on helping people feel more confident, effective, and connected in their day-to-day lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, clients can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space to talk about what brings them to therapy and what they hope to gain from the process. We will spend time getting to know one another, reviewing relevant history, discussing current challenges, and identifying goals for treatment. I also like to explore strengths, coping patterns, relationships, and any factors contributing to stress, anxiety, or life transitions. My approach is collaborative and practical, drawing from evidence-based therapies such as DBT, CBT, PCIT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based strategies when appropriate. The first session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions, discuss what has or has not worked in the past, and determine whether my style feels like a good fit for their needs. I strongly believe that the relationship and “fit” between therapist and client are essential for meaningful and lasting change. If at any point a client feels that I may not be the best fit for them, I fully support exploring other options to ensure they find a therapeutic relationship where they feel comfortable, understood, and supported.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes me unique as a therapist is my balance of warmth, honesty, irreverence, and practical skill-building. I strive to create a nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe being open. I work collaboratively with clients while also encouraging accountability, perspective, and growth. At times, I use humor and irreverence thoughtfully to help clients challenge unhelpful patterns, reduce shame, and approach difficulties with greater flexibility and self-compassion. I also place a strong emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I believe that feeling understood, respected, and genuinely connected to your therapist is a key part of creating lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work well with those who are experiencing anxiety in any context. Folks with mild to moderate depression who would benefit from mindfulness or skills based interventions. I enjoy working with parents of young children to help with parenting skills. I'm incredibly motivated and happy to work with anyone who truly has a desire to improve. Client concerns could be anything work related, self esteem related, anxiety, life transitions.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I was trained through Behavioral Tech LLC and volunteered in Linnehan's lab at UW. I have worked multiple years as an adherent therapist. I am no longer on a consult team, although still use a lot of the methods / skills of this treatment.

Motivational Interviewing

I was trained thought course work at the University of Washington and through their AUDIT program of alcohol & drug disorders. I have used this with multiple clinics that I have been a part of.

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I am trained in PCIT (parent / child interactive therapy) as well as Cooperative Parenting. I'm trained to work with families with children under the age of 9. I use this in my therapies along with validation skills and other parenting modalities to help move a family through a difficult period.

Eclectic

I use multiple modalities to assist people where they are at with a culturally competent lens.

Prolonged Exposure Therapy

I am trained in Prolonged Exposure treatment. I have used this to help patients deal with the symptoms of PTSD and other conditions resulting from trauma.
