(she/her)
Hello! I’m Sophia and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I obtained my Master’s in Social Work from Boston University with a specialization in Groupwork. With everything going on in the world today, life can be hard to manage. Do you feel stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, anxious, have relationship issues or feel like isolating yourself? Have you thought about reaching out for help before? Well, any time you decide to reach out is a good time. I have over 20 years of clinical experience in providing therapy to adolescents, adults, children and families in a variety of settings that include outpatient, inpatient, community-based, correctional institutions, academia, private practice and now through the Grow Therapy platform. I have a strong passion for helping others working towards achieving their desired goals as it relates to mental health, life stressors, and developing healthy coping mechanisms. We work towards creating the balance you desire and deserve. My clinical orientation ranges from using Solution Focused therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, just to name a few. I will use the approach(s) that are best suited for your individualized needs. I look forward to working with you and thank you for letting me be a part of your journey.
During the first session expect us to learn a little more about each other: to tell me what brings you therapy and your expectations as well as review my style of therapy and my expectations. I will ask questions, answer questions, give support and resources if needed. We will learn how to proceed after the first session. Our greatest problems in life come not so much from the situations we confront, as from our doubts about our ability to handle them. Susan Taylor
We will use a variety of Evidence Based practice interventions that are best suited to aid in your journey. Just to name a few, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewer, Solution Focused, some elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Client Centered approaches. I tailor my approaches to meet the needs of the individual.
While I have been in the field for awhile and worked in a variety of settings and with different clientele. I do have areas and individuals that I prefer to work with. I work well with Adults ages 18 and up, adolescents 14 to 17; and Couples counseling . I like to work with individuals that are dealing with life stressors, trying to manage depression, anxiety, mood instability, limited stress tolerance, life changes, developing healthy communication skills, developing coping skills and working the life and lifestyle that they desire.
I enjoy working with Adults (ages 18 and up) and Couples

I’ve been seeing Sophia for about seven months, and she’s been incredible. She uses CBT and trauma-focused approaches that really help me understand myself and find practical solutions instead of staying stuck. She’s direct but also deeply caring—honest when she needs to be, yet always supportive. I appreciate how attentive she is and how much she truly listens. I’ve made real progress with her help, and I always leave our sessions feeling understood and motivated.

I came to Sophia by chance during a traumatic time. She was professional and was very reassuring. She has helped me to work through both short term and long term issues and to see them from a different perspective. It's like talking to a friend, but this person does not have a bias and is here for my growth and development. I appreciate both her humor and warmth, as well as her style of therapy.

I was searching for someone with a more direct and open minded approach , and Sophia has exceeded my expectations. Although warm and compassionate in her approach, she does not allow me to sit in my mess. She speaks with love and genuine concern.
