Nicole Sinkler
As a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 26 years of healthcare experience, I provide personalized psychiatric care for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, postpartum mental health concerns, and life transitions. My approach combines thoughtful evaluation and medication management with practical, patient-centered care to help you feel better, function better, and move forward with confidence.
First session
Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation focused on your current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, medications, previous treatment, and treatment goals. We’ll assess concerns such as mood, anxiety, sleep, concentration, and daily functioning. By the end of the visit, we’ll discuss my clinical impressions, treatment recommendations, and next steps, including medication options when appropriate, so you leave with a clear plan for care.
Strengths
My dual background in primary care and psychiatry allows me to approach mental health from a broader clinical perspective. I consider not only psychiatric symptoms, but also sleep, physical health, medications, chronic conditions, and life changes that may affect how you feel and function. I value thoughtful prescribing, clear communication, and helping you understand your treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care.
Ideal clients
I work best with adults seeking psychiatric evaluation and medication management for anxiety, depression, ADHD, insomnia, OCD, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, postpartum mental health concerns, and related conditions. Many of my patients are experiencing changes in mood, sleep, concentration, energy, or daily functioning. I welcome patients who want to better understand their symptoms, discuss evidence-based treatment options, and take an active role in decisions about their psychiatric care.
Treatment methods
Psychoeducation
I provide clear education about symptoms, diagnoses, medications, treatment options, benefits, and risks to support informed treatment decisions.
Supportive
I incorporate brief supportive interventions during psychiatric visits to address current concerns and support treatment progress.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I use brief, solution-focused strategies to identify priorities, build on existing strengths, and support practical goals alongside psychiatric treatment.
