Conner Schilling
The first thing that I want you to know about me is that I am passionate about stories. Each and every person is on a journey that is unique to them and it is a joy for me to work alongside my clients to help them process both the joys and the tragedies. Listening to your experiences, fostering clarity, and working alongside you to help you meet your goals will be my focus as a clinician. As someone who grew up in the PNW, I love the outdoors. Whether it be hiking, sports, or simply hanging out, being outside is where I find myself at ease. I spent time in California when completing my undergraduate studies, but found that I missed the trees, weather, and seasons. Coming back to work in the area that I grew up in is a privilege. I now live my wife, and our two pets - a mini Australian Shepherd, and a cat. When I’m not seeing clients you can find me hiking, cooking, leather-working, or reading.
First session
In our first meeting together, you can expect that we will begin by going over some logistics for our meetings together and answering any questions you might have for me. Following this we will begin helping me get to know you! I want to know what is bringing you in, where are you at now, and where you want to be. Sometimes that looks like lots of questions from me, sometimes it doesn't. More than anything I want you to begin getting comfortable in the therapeutic space.
Strengths
I believe that therapy can be a rigorous yet transformative space, where you get to invest in yourself and your growth in an intentional way. It is my desire to create a space where we can navigate and explore whatever trials you are facing. As a therapist you will find that I meet my clients with genuineness, empathy, and curiosity. I want my clients to feel comfortable in the therapeutic space and do everything I can to foster an environment that feels welcoming, non-judgmental and supportive. My clients decide what it is they want to work towards as I believe that my clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to empower you find your own answers.
Ideal clients
Many of us reach a point in life when we encounter issues that do not seem to leave us alone. Anxiety, depression, marital stress, family difficulties, and countless other obstacles can get in your way of flourishing. You might be having difficulties with self-worth, setting boundaries, standing up for yourself, or you may be unsure of what is going on but know that something needs to change. Whether these issues have only just begun or have been occurring for some time, you deserve to keep moving forward.
