Welcome! :-) I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Tennessee, though I'm currently living in Colorado. I received my Master's in Social Work from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and I have been practicing in various clinical settings (correctional/reintegration, substance addiction, etc.) for 7 years now. I'll start by saying that if you’re here, I am proud of you. It takes tremendous bravery and courage to not just ask for help, but to sit with the unknown and to be open to the work required in creating positive life change. I am deeply passionate about working with individuals to discover their own strengths in their journey of healing and relief. I believe it to be a massive privilege to work as a therapist- to be trusted with some of the most vulnerable thoughts, feelings and experiences an individual may bring into sessions, and that is something I honor with integrity.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing that are bringing you into therapy, as much or as little as you're comfortable sharing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to review and work through together in follow-up sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Having worked with adults in various settings to address different concerns over the last 7 years, I feel that I've been lucky in learning how to be adaptable when life throws us curveballs, which sometimes pushes us to shift our focus in therapy. I have a very deep-seeded desire to help others put some of the heavy stuff down, while ensuring them that they are worthy, they are seen, they are heard, and supported. I also feel that because the range of individuals I've seen is so diverse, I've been able to get creative in drawing from many theories and techniques to address whatever needs and challenges that arise with each individual.

Person-centered (Rogerian)
We are all humans first, and I believe that each of us are the experts of our own experiences and lives. That said, I believe in using humanistic approaches to healing, where I provide a nonjudgemental space for honest self-discovery, in hopes of walking alongside of you in your journey and supporting you in finding the answers you’ve been seeking, because you’ve had them all along.
Strength-Based
I’ve found that using a strengths-based focus can have a huge impact on our ability to practice resilience. It creates a space that allows us to identify strengths we've used in the past but might not have defined as strengths at the time. It allows us to change the narrative from “What do we need to fix about you?” to “What is the good that is already in you, and how can we bring that out?” It is wildly empowering to learn that we are already strong, and we already have the skills needed to survive, we might just need a little guidance on how to tap into those skills and use them intentionally in our lives and healing processes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy is special because it can be used to aid in navigating a wide range of concerns. Through CBT, we get to take a closer look at our thinking patterns and emotions in a way that provides new perspectives. The goal is not to make stressful situations disappear (no magic wands here), but to learn to respond more positively to stress, pain and difficulty. CBT allows us to learn to do this by coming to understand how thoughts can impact actions, and how to replace some of those negative thoughts and behaviors with healthier thinking patterns and habits.
