Empowerment Begins Here: See How the Right Support Can Reshape Your Path! Hello there! I am Janesta Nairn, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS) based in Georgia. I earned my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Holy Cross, and my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, both are CACREP-accredited universities. I have accumulated over a decade of experience in the field. I am a faith-driven professional who draws from various modalities to meet the unique needs of each individual with a person-centered foundation, prioritizing a safe, non-judgmental space to explore experiences and goals with empathy and understanding. My primary goal is to create a supportive and nurturing space to facilitate healing, encourage wellness, inspire personal growth, and survive trauma-related circumstances. I am under consultation and pursuing my Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) credential for children ages 18 and below. Therefore, if you are a parent of a 16 to 18-year-old who has faced trauma, and both you and your child are willing to commit to at least 15 structured sessions, I strongly encourage you to reach out and schedule a consultation.
For the first session, we will start with an introductory conversation to build rapport, followed by a rendition of the informed consent, ensuring the completion of necessary paperwork and emergency contacts. We will discuss the counseling alliance and boundaries, such as time management, rescheduling policies, and regression and progression in therapy. Once the administrative aspects are sorted, we will discuss the therapy process and work together to establish your goals. Socratic questioning will aid in gathering information about your biological, spiritual, and psychological dimensions. For all subsequent sessions, we will begin with a check-in to discuss your week and address any pressing issues or crises. If any crises come up, we will address them immediately unless we decide otherwise. We will review the previous session, follow up on any homework, and proceed with the rest in a natural flow. Each session will typically last 45-50 minutes and will not exceed 60 minutes. If you have been screened to complete the TF-CBT, sessions will look different and be discussed accordingly.

My person-centered therapy emphasizes a supportive and non-judgmental environment where unconditional positive regard is essential to our trusted relationship. Each client's unique needs and experiences are absorbed throughout the therapeutic process, thus encouraging self-discovery and personal growth.
My Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a strength-based approach to help clients navigate significant life changes, whether social, financial, spiritual, or relational. Time in session will be focused on uncovering inherent strengths, past successes, and future direction. Due to the short time frame, building confidence and self-efficacy is particularly essential in fostering healthy decision-making skills, cultivating resilience, and bolstering clarity.
My experience with CBT focuses on helping clients recognize maladaptive safety and coping behaviors while guiding them toward more effective, productive patterns through tailored techniques. Clients are empowered to foster emotional regulation, develop healthier coping strategies, improve problem-solving skills, and achieve lasting behavioral change.
