Hi! My name is Kimberly. I'm happy you're here and reading this page; it means you're ready to make a change. Remember, anyone can benefit from therapy. Taking that first step and asking for help can be very challenging, but you've made it to this point, and you're headed in the right direction. Perhaps you're feeling defeated, overwhelmed, or a little out of control; you're not alone. Maybe you're struggling to find joy, have lost hope for your future, or are grieving a significant loss. These emotions can feel overwhelming, but are completely normal at different times in our lives. I am here to help. I will help you figure out what is holding you back in life, improve your emotional well-being, and work on issues related to stress, depression, grief, relationship problems, communication issues, life transitions, or strategies to improve your outlook on long-term, chronic pain from autoimmune disease. I'm here to provide a safe, compassionate, private space to share your thoughts. Working together, we can identify areas in your life where you're struggling or not coping well, and set goals to address them. In addition to improving coping strategies, we'll work together to help you become aware of negative or self-critical thoughts that have you stuck and prevent you from leading a more peaceful, happy life. I use my 20 years as a psychotherapist, along with research-based techniques, to guide you toward the best version of yourself. When you're ready to move forward, please know I am here to help.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Welcome! In our initial session together, I'll take some time to get to know you and provide more about my background. From there, we'll focus our attention on the specific problems you're currently facing. This approach will enable me to develop a personalized plan for us to work through together in our follow-up sessions. I'm looking forward to working with you and providing the support you need.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Suppose you feel overwhelmed, stressed out, anxious, depressed, and fatigued from life, relationships, or a long-term illness. In that case, I can provide the support, compassion, and direction you need to change the thought processes that have led to those emotions.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
As a therapist with extensive experience in family systems, trauma, and relationship dynamics, along with my certification as a Life and Relationship Coach, I focus on helping individuals navigate relationship challenges. I address the anxiety and depression that often arise from dysfunctional dynamics and explore how attachment styles influence our daily relationships and interactions with others. My passion lies in empowering clients to recognize their hidden strengths and values, enabling them to make healthy choices. I enjoy working with college-age students, young adults aged 25-29, and adults 30 and older.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The way we think - motivates the way we feel - and affects the way we behave. So, if we can change the way we think and feel, we will behave differently! I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an evidence-based and research-supported treatment method for changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
You are the director of your life; with support, empathy, and guidance you can find the solutions!
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Feeling overwhelmed? Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques can increase your emotional coping skills and build your resistance to feeling out of control or unbalanced. DBT helps individuals who may frequently feel overwhelmed by learning relaxation techniques, emotional regulation, and how to apply mindfulness skills in daily living. DBT also helps to improve interpersonal communication.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I frequently incorporate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into sessions to enhance psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility involves learning to accept things you may not like, while recognizing that you can still move forward with your life in a different way —create a new path that focuses on values and meaningful life choices. Many of us struggle to accept difficult relationships or situations, but ACT brings clarity and psychological flexibility to daily challenges and unpleasant emotions. ACT can also help individuals commit to action by making necessary changes, focusing on goals, and leading a values-based life. ACT is an evidence-based and research-supported treatment method for building acceptance, tolerance, and strength.

There is nothing bad to say about Kim. She has helped me get through a lot of rough issues of my life. She challenges me on my thoughts and ideas that really make me think. She goes above and beyond with following through with subjects in our sessions. By sending me material to work on and make me dig deep into myself. I would recommend her to anyone who has suffered through a lot of loss and grief.
