Hi! My name is Kimberly. I'm happy you're here and reading this page; it means you're ready to make a change. Remember, anyone can benefit from therapy. Taking that first step and asking for help can be very challenging, but you've made it to this point and you're headed in the right direction. Perhaps you're feeling defeated, overwhelmed, or a little out of control; you're not alone. Maybe you don't feel joy, you've lost hope for your future, or you're grieving a significant loss. These emotions can feel overwhelming but are completely normal at different times in our lives. I am here to help. I have a passionate interest in working with individuals on issues related to stress & anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, relationships, and issues related to long-term illnesses. I'm here to provide a safe, compassionate space to share your thoughts. Working together we can identify goals and areas in your life where you're unhappy or just not coping well. In addition to improving coping strategies, we'll work together to help you become aware of negative or self-critical thoughts that have you stuck and prevent you from leading a more peaceful life. I use my 20 years of counseling experience, along with research-based techniques to guide you toward the best version of yourself. When you're ready to move forward, please know I am here to help.
In our first couple of sessions together, we'll get to know each other and then focus on the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored made plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Suppose you feel overwhelmed, stressed out, anxious, depressed, and fatigued from life, relationships, or a long-term illness. In that case, I can provide the support, compassion, and direction you need to change the thought processes that have led to those emotions.
The way we think - motivates the way we feel - and affects the way we behave. So, if we can change the way we think, we will behave differently! I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is an evidence-based and research-supported treatment method for changing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
You are the director of your life; with support, empathy, and guidance you can find the solutions!
Feeling overwhelmed? Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques can increase your coping skills and build your resistance to feeling emotionally unbalanced. DBT is an evidence-based and research-supported treatment method for changing feelings and behaviors.
Are you struggling to accept something? Sometimes we avoid emotions instead of accepting feelings that are uncomfortable and prevent us from moving forward with our lives. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you understand hardships and commit to making necessary changes to improve your life. ACT is an evidence-based and research-supported treatment method for building tolerance, acceptance, and strength.
