Hello! My name is Greg Corbett and I am a LMHC in the state of Massachusetts. I have been working as a therapist on some level for the last 8 years. During my time as an undergraduate, I had the pleasure of having two separate internships; one at a rape crisis/domestic violence hotline and one at a substance use treatment center. Through these two internships, I was able to learn what it was like to be a therapist and discover that I wanted to continue to pursue my education to become a therapist myself. During my graduate program, I completed two more internships, one that allowed me to continue my work at a substance use treatment center and one at a college counseling center. I was able to truly find myself as a therapist, gain experience working with individuals 18+, learn about the way the court system works, especially with regards to drug and alcohol offenses, and also gain experience working with various presenting concerns, from depression and anxiety to trauma. Following graduating with my Master's degree, I worked at two separate community outpatient counseling centers and a more private outpatient counseling clinic. I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 to 70 and have gained experience with various presenting concerns. During my time as a therapist, I have witnessed how difficult it has been for people to find a therapist due to long waitlists. The act of reaching out to set up therapy is hard enough; it should not take several months to get an appointment and I want to help alleviate such a wait for people. I want to be here for you. I believe anyone can do this work if they have the right support and I hope to be a support for you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is all about you. Time will be spent asking a lot of questions about what lead to you starting therapy, what your goals are, and what you want to accomplish. I will also take time to learn about your background as much as I can in order to know all about you as a person. I also provide space for you to ask me questions as well in order for you to learn a little about me as well as the way I will run sessions.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all influence each other, to make the changes you want TF-CBT- Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Utilizing CBT components with specific trauma-related aspects. Solution Focused-We will look at your current situation, your end goal, and how to get there. Existential-Discovering purpose and meaning

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am passionate about the work that I do. I believe that everyone has the potential and the ability to be their best and true self and believe that there is no wrong reason to be in therapy. I believe that you are the expert on you and I will support you in whatever you need. Therapy is for everyone, whether for four sessions for multiple years.
