Life has a way of throwing us curveballs, and it can be quite the rollercoaster. Sometimes, it's downright overwhelming and even a bit scary. But taking this first step to acknowledge that you are hurting or in need of support, well, that's courageous. In a world where seeking help isn't always easy, the welcoming and friendly ear I have to offer may be the support you are looking for. I am passionate about validating your experiences, encouraging you to open up, and helping challenge the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that might be holding you back. It could be the weight of school, stress from work or home, relationship drama, turning to substances as a coping mechanism, or simply navigating the twists and turns of life. And, you know what? It's totally okay to need someone to chat with, someone who'll listen without judgment and with a ton of compassion. I've worked with people of all ages and use a mix of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), reality therapy, and motivational interviewing. This is a safe space where I encourage you to share your thoughts. I'll laugh with you, be your shoulder to lean on during tough times, and cheer you on every step of the way!
Our first meeting is like a getting-to-know-you session. We want to build a solid rapport that'll make it easier to dive into the nitty-gritty later on. We'll also chat about your goals for our therapeutic relationship. This helps me to tailor our approach to best fit what you're searching for.
I've had the privilege of working with many individuals dealing with depression and anxiety, and I really shine when it comes to discussing two things. First, I'm all about helping you find that sweet spot of emotional balance. Second, I'm big on exploring coping strategies that are a perfect fit for you. I firmly believe there's no one-size-fits-all solution for these things. I'm also passionate about creating a space where you can talk about how you're really feeling and how to tackle those tricky emotions that can be tough to express. Your journey to personal growth and emotional well-being starts here.
I've got a soft spot for young adults, those who are navigating the transition from high school to college or taking the leap into full-fledged adulthood. I totally get where you're coming from because I've been there myself, and I've worked extensively with young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, as well as individuals in the LGBTQ+IA community with these needs. The early adult years are a wild ride, filled with all sorts of thoughts and emotions as you navigate life's twists and turns. That's what I love chatting about the most with clients in this age group.
This is my primary approach I utilize, because it fits majority of what people are struggling with across the board. I always adjust for what the conversation best calls for, but I find using this method helpful, to simply talk about how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are related.

Ashley is an outstanding therapist! I had a few therapists before Ashley and not once did I laugh. I thought therapy was sit down, tell your story and expect to be told where you need to grow up. And by all means, don’t laugh. Ashley allows me to use my humor to help explain difficult situations. If I throw a joke in, it’s not to make light of therapy. It was a pause to let me regain my composure. Ashley understands that and lets me be me.

I came to Grow as a recommendation from my insurer. I absolutely love who I'm seeing. I feel like I have found a great team, that understands me. Ashley is so caring and confident that I will get well that I know I am in the right hands for my wellbeing. I can't recommend her enough!
