I am a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. My nursing career began in 2003, and I have history and experience in neonatal nursing, pediatric nursing, community-based nursing and health education, public health, emergency response, and of course, psychiatric and mental health across the lifespan. I am a firm believer that as a caregiver, mental health and wellness are of the utmost importance, and strive to normalize the utilization of mental health services to optimize our ability to live and give. There is no shame in seeking mental health services, just as there is no shame in a 75,000 mile check up for a vehicle. Don't treat your vehicle better than you treat yourself!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you can expect a thorough evaluation, an open discussion about your concerns and goals, and a collaborative approach to create a personalized treatment plan that works for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is understanding the challenges of balancing life and emotion. Working, caring for home and families, maintaining self- the balancing game often causes us to deprioritize SELF. Get back to putting you first.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients are best positioned to succeed when they are open to collaboration, actively engaged in their treatment, and committed to using the tools and strategies we develop together to make meaningful progress.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

The strength-based treatment method focuses on identifying and leveraging an individual’s unique strengths, abilities, and past successes to promote mental health and personal growth. Rather than concentrating on problems or deficits, this approach emphasizes resilience, empowerment, and the inherent capacity for positive change. By highlighting what is already working well, individuals are encouraged to build on these strengths, fostering confidence and motivation as they navigate challenges. Overall, the strength-based approach aligns with a wellness-focused perspective, shifting the narrative from “What’s wrong?” to “What’s strong?” This positive framework instills hope and encourages individuals to see themselves as capable and resourceful, allowing them to take ownership of their progress and create meaningful, lasting change in their lives.
