I’m a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I help adults manage anxiety, depression, stress, mood changes, burnout, and life transitions. I also have extensive experience caring for older adults with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges, while supporting families and caregivers through difficult stages of care. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and personalized. I combine medication management with therapy techniques like CBT, mindfulness, and supportive counseling when needed. My goal is to help clients feel heard, improve their symptoms, and build practical tools for lasting emotional wellness.

I also have extensive experience supporting older adults with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive health concerns, as well as working with families and caregivers during challenging seasons of care.

I provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can openly share their struggles and work toward meaningful change at their own pace.

First session

During your first session, we’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’re struggling with, and what you hope to work on. I’ll ask about your symptoms, stressors, personal history, and any past mental health treatment so I can better understand your needs. This is also a chance for us to get to know each other and start building a treatment plan together. We may discuss therapy options, coping strategies, lifestyle changes, and medication if needed. My goal is for you to feel comfortable, heard, and leave with a better understanding of your next steps. Treatment is a team effort, and we’ll work together to find the best approach for you.

Strengths

What stands out about my approach is that it’s both compassionate and practical. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all treatment, so I tailor care to each person’s unique needs, challenges, and goals. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and supportive counseling, along with medication management when appropriate. My focus is not just on reducing symptoms, but helping you build practical tools to manage stress, improve relationships, and feel more in control of your life. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, and nonjudgmental, while also being honest, thoughtful, and goal-oriented. I strive to create a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. My goal is to help you make meaningful progress in areas like mood, anxiety, focus, confidence, coping skills, and overall wellbeing—so you can feel stronger and better equipped to handle life’s challenges.

Ideal clients

I work best with clients who are motivated for change and open to a collaborative approach. I specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, burnout, life transitions, and trauma-related concerns. I also have extensive experience supporting older adults with mood, behavioral, and cognitive challenges, as well as helping caregivers navigate difficult seasons of care. My style is warm, direct, and practical, and I work well with clients looking for real tools, personalized care, and meaningful progress.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as part of my treatment approach to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. CBT can be very effective for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and difficulty coping. In my practice, I often combine CBT with medication management when needed. Some of the techniques I use include identifying negative thought patterns, reframing unhelpful thoughts, building coping skills, improving daily routines, problem-solving, and strengthening emotional regulation. For anxiety, I help clients recognize fearful thoughts and develop healthier ways to respond. For depression, I focus on motivation, routine-building, and challenging hopeless thinking. I also adjust my approach based on each person’s needs, age, and life circumstances. My goal is to provide practical, evidence-based tools that clients can use in everyday life to feel better and function more confidently.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) as a practical, goal-oriented approach to help clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start. Instead of focusing only on problems, SFBT helps identify strengths, what’s already working, and the next small steps toward change. In my practice, I help clients set clear goals, recognize their coping skills and supports, and build confidence through realistic progress. I often use scaling questions, strengths-based discussions, and action planning to create manageable steps between sessions. This approach can be helpful for anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and motivation struggles. I often combine SFBT with CBT, supportive therapy, compassion-focused strategies, and medication management when needed. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, hopeful, and able to make meaningful progress by building on their own strengths.
