Hi, I'm Cat! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon, and I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself. My goal is to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are without judgment and feel supported as we work through whatever you're facing. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, grief, life transitions, and medical or chronic health concerns. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-informed care, but more than anything, I believe in building a genuine connection with my clients. Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and you don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for extra support, I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, growth, and the life you want to build.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is really just a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what's been going on in your life, what brought you to therapy, and what you're hoping to get out of it. I'll ask some questions to better understand your background and current concerns, and you'll have plenty of time to ask me questions too. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and supported from the start. There's no pressure to share everything in one session or have it all figured out. We'll go at a pace that feels right for you and work together to decide what you'd like to focus on moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my biggest strengths as a therapist is being able to meet people where they are while also knowing when it's time to challenge them. I don't believe therapy is just about having someone listen. Real growth often comes from being willing to have honest conversations, look at things from a different perspective, and step outside of your comfort zone. I'll always support you, but I'll also encourage you to do the work that creates lasting change. Before becoming a social worker, I served on active duty in the U.S. Air Force, worked as a federal GS employee, and lived in several different countries. Those experiences gave me a deep appreciation for resilience, adapting to change, and connecting with people from many different backgrounds. I've also spent the last three years working as a social worker in crisis, behavioral health, and medical settings, supporting adults through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. As a single mom, I also understand firsthand that life can be messy, stressful, and unpredictable. Because of that, I don't believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. My approach is flexible and based on what you're looking for. Some clients need a space to process and feel heard, while others want someone who will challenge them, hold them accountable, and help them make meaningful changes. We'll work together to find the approach that best fits your goals.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone who is ready to invest in themselves, show up consistently, and be open to growth. Therapy takes honesty, curiosity, and a willingness to look at patterns, challenge yourself, and make meaningful changes. I value clients who are ready to take an active role in their healing journey. Someone who is able to be honest, show up, and take small consistent steps toward becoming the person you want to be.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by helping clients explore the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck and work on developing healthier ways of thinking, coping, and responding to life's challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients build emotional regulation, improve coping strategies, manage stress, and develop healthier ways of navigating difficult emotions and relationships. DBT emphasizes finding balance between accepting where you are while also working toward meaningful change.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients explore the emotions and experiences that shape how they see themselves and relate to others. Together, we work on understanding emotional patterns, improving relationships, and creating healthier ways of responding to challenges.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients better understand what is driving their thoughts, behaviors, and choices. Through a collaborative and nonjudgmental approach, we explore your values, goals, and any barriers that may be keeping you from making the changes you want. My role is to help you find your own motivation while also encouraging honest reflection and taking meaningful steps toward growth.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients recognize their strengths, identify what they want to change, and focus on the steps needed to move forward. This approach helps shift the focus from feeling stuck in the problem to exploring solutions, building confidence, and creating realistic changes that align with your goals.
