New to Grow
I am a clinical social worker with experience supporting children, adolescents, and adults across the lifespan. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Eastern Mennonite University and my master’s degree in clinical social work from George Mason University. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, family conflict, grief and loss, peer relationships, school issues, and self-esteem. My therapeutic approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, strength-based practices, and stress management techniques. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel seen and heard while building resilience and developing effective coping skills to manage emotional distress.
In the first session, clients can expect a warm, supportive environment where they will have the opportunity to share their concerns, personal experiences, and goals for therapy. The session will focus on building rapport, exploring current challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or stress, and identifying strengths and coping strategies. Together, we will begin creating a personalized plan to support emotional wellness, resilience, and overall growth
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strength-based, with a focus on creating a safe space where clients feel heard and supported. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and manage emotional distress related to anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I strive to empower clients by helping them recognize their strengths while working toward meaningful, lasting growth.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In past treatment, I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, while identifying how negative thinking patterns impact emotional responses and daily functioning. I have supported individuals in recognizing and challenging unhelpful thoughts, developing healthier perspectives, and implementing coping strategies such as problem-solving, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, communication skills, and behavioral activation. CBT has been especially beneficial when working with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, financial difficulties, and family-related stressors by helping them build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen decision-making skills. In future treatment, I plan to continue utilizing CBT interventions to support individuals in developing effective coping mechanisms, increasing self-awareness, and improving overall emotional and behavioral functioning in order to promote long-term stability and wellness.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have experience utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a treatment modality to support individuals in developing psychological flexibility and learning how to manage difficult thoughts and emotions in healthier ways. In my work with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, financial difficulties, and family-related stressors, I use ACT interventions to help clients practice mindfulness, identify personal values, and engage in value-driven behaviors rather than avoidance patterns. I incorporate coping strategies that promote acceptance, emotional regulation, resilience, and increased self-awareness while encouraging individuals to make meaningful behavioral changes aligned with their goals. I plan to continue utilizing ACT techniques in future treatment to support individuals in strengthening coping skills, improving overall functioning, and enhancing emotional well-being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my practice to help individuals develop effective coping skills for managing emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and reducing impulsive or maladaptive behaviors. I incorporate DBT techniques such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to support individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, family conflict, and other life stressors. Through this approach, I help individuals build resilience, improve communication skills, and develop healthier ways to navigate daily challenges while promoting emotional stability and overall well-being.
Interpersonal
I utilize an interpersonal approach in treatment to help individuals improve communication skills, strengthen relationships, and better understand how interpersonal interactions impact their emotional well-being. I support individuals in identifying unhealthy relationship patterns, resolving conflicts, and developing healthier ways to express emotions and needs. I plan to continue using the interpersonal approach to help individuals navigate life stressors, build supportive relationships, and enhance overall emotional and social functioning.
