LCSW, 8 years of experience
Hi, I’m Sarah Harris, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and EMDR therapist who helps women heal from anxiety, trauma, perfectionism, and burnout through a faith-integrated, trauma-informed approach. Many of the women I work with feel stuck in unwanted patterns they can’t seem to break, no matter how much they achieve or how hard they try. My work isn’t about helping you just cope; it’s about true healing and transformation. While talk therapy has its place, I’ve found that integrating EMDR and nervous system regulation creates the deeper breakthroughs my clients have been longing for; helping them finally experience peace, clarity, and freedom they never thought possible.
In our first session, I lwill lead the way and help you feel at ease. We’ll start with introductions and review your intake form so I can understand your story, history, and what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions to help us identify patterns and gain deeper insight into what you’re currently facing. You don’t need to have it all figured out, I’ll guide the process, explain each step, and together we’ll clarify your goals and the kind of transformation you’re hoping to experience through our work.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is helping clients truly understand themselves on a deeper level. I don’t just focus on managing symptoms. I help uncover and heal the root causes of anxiety, trauma, and emotional patterns that keep women stuck. My approach combines incorporating Biblical principles (if desired), EMDR, and nervous system work to help clients rewire old responses and experience real change. I believe most struggles aren’t because something is “wrong” with you, but because of how your brain and nervous system have learned to protect you. Together, we’ll work toward freedom, not just learning how to live with the same issues, but finally transforming them. I also focus on helping clients build the capacity to handle life’s challenges with resilience and peace, so they can thrive even when circumstances are uncertain or difficult.
My ideal clients are women who are tired of repeating the same emotional and relational patterns and sense that God has more for them than the constant cycle of anxiety, burnout, or self-sabotage. They’re high-functioning and self-aware, but despite all their effort, they still feel stuck. I’m best suited to help women who are ready to go deeper, who don’t just want coping skills, but real healing, growth, and alignment with who God created them to be.
For many of my client's their faith is important for part of their life and something that they don't want to be seperate from the work that they are doing to heal and improve their life. I offer Christian counseling from a Bibical perspective for my Christian clients that desire to keep their faith at the center of everything they do in their life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) originated as a treatment to address past history of trauma. As more research has been conducted it has been shown that EMDR can be such a powerful tool in treating other conditions such as anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. It has been such an amazing modality to use for many of my clients to help them completely break free from issues they have struggled with for a long time. EMDR helps clients not just to improve ability to cope but it helps to resolve the root cause that is creating the issue so that the problem no longer impacts you the way it was before.
Our thoughts, emotions and behaviors are all connected and impacting the results that we are getting in our lives. Many try to implement change by just changing their behaviors and then wonder why it is so difficult to be able to actual maintain the changes. This is because it's not just behavior at play. CBT helps to address the cognitions (thoughts) as well as the behaviors and emotions that are connected impacting the quality of your life.
