In the first session, clients will be be asked about their histories (family, medical, past treatment), what has worked in the past, what didn't work. We will discuss diagnostic criteria and recommended treatment. This is also a great time to get to know your provider and for your provider to understand you as a client (Don't hold back!). Address any concerns and ask questions.
My goal is to not only treat your symptoms with medication but to also make you feel comfortable speaking about your mental health. My niche is listening, assessing your speech, body language and mood while discussing certain topics. My strength is education. I help my patients learn what they are feeling, why they are feeling it and what can possibly help.
I utilize psychoeducation for my clients who need a better understanding of their diagnosis and treatment
