Minnette Adderly
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 20 years of healthcare experience. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and stress-related concerns. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with supportive therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help clients better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe in collaborative, personalized care that empowers individuals to build resilience, develop effective coping skills, and achieve lasting wellness.
I specialize in the assessment and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, generalized anxiety, and stress-related conditions.
I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their treatment journey. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward improved mental health and well-being.
First session
During our first session, we will focus on getting to know you and understanding your concerns, symptoms, and goals for treatment. I will ask questions about your mental health history, medical background, current challenges, and any previous treatments or medications. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share what you hope to gain from care. Together, we will begin to develop a personalized treatment plan, which may include medication management, brief therapy strategies, and follow-up recommendations. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable moving forward.
Strengths
My greatest strengths include my ability to combine medication management with brief, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, allowing for a more comprehensive and effective treatment experience. I focus on practical, results-oriented strategies, such as CBT techniques, to help clients develop skills they can use in their daily lives. I am known for creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable and heard, while also maintaining a structured, goal-oriented approach that promotes progress. I prioritize collaboration, clear communication, and individualized care, ensuring that each treatment plan tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of the client.
Ideal clients
My ideal clients are adolescents and adults experiencing mood and anxiety disorders, including depression, generalized anxiety, and stress-related conditions. I work best with individuals who are open to a collaborative, goal-oriented approach and are motivated to better understand their symptoms and develop practical coping strategies. I am particularly well-positioned to support clients who are navigating life transitions, emotional dysregulation, or difficulties with motivation, focus, and daily functioning. My approach integrates medication management with brief, evidence-based interventions such as CBT, allowing clients to build insight, improve emotional regulation, and achieve greater stability and overall well-being. I also work effectively with clients who prefer a structured yet supportive environment, including those engaging in telehealth, where we can utilize tools and strategies to promote consistency, accountability, and progress toward their treatment goals.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) within outpatient settings by integrating brief, focused interventions into medication management visits. I help patients identify cognitive distortions, reframe negative thought patterns, and apply strategies such as behavioral activation and goal setting to improve mood and functioning. In telehealth practice, I incorporate digital tools such as thought records, mood tracking, and worksheets to reinforce skills between sessions and enhance patient engagement. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to support patients in developing effective coping strategies within both in-person and virtual care settings.
