New to Grow
Hi! My name is Kisha Thomas! I am a compassionate helping professional with over 20 years of professional experiences. My goal is to create a space for clients to seek the help that is needed in order to reach your personal goals. I focus on creating a safe and collaborative space, where we can explore the challenges you're facing and find ways to move forward. I have experience working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression , and grief. I'm committed to providing a non-judgmental and supportive environment for clients to progress towards their goals.
During the first session, we will taking some time to get to know each, exploring the reason for seeking therapy at this time, and completing a basic intake assessment. The more that I know about you, the better I can help you!
It is important to create a safe space for clients to openly share and process feelings and emotions, often not shared with others. I pride myself in being a good listener, providing a space for clients to self-reflect. Collaborative problem solving is used to help clients see things from a different perspective to help facilitate change.
Not only do I work with clients who are experiencing depression or anxiety, but also client going through various life transitions-marriage, divorce, and grief to name a few. I focus on setting realistic goals with the client in order to see progress, no matter how big or small.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress and mental health conditions. I use a collaborative approach with the client to help them to reach their goals.
It is important to me to create a safe space for clients to be their authentic self in the counseling room. Self-discovery, self-growth, and self-expression will be the focus through this approach.
